To Whom It May Concern, Chow Time Restaurant – 6997 W Commercial Blvd, Tamarac, FL 33319
I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the experience my family and I had at your Commercial Boulevard location. We have been loyal patrons of the Chow Time restaurant in Pembroke Pines and have always appreciated the respectful service, welcoming atmosphere, and attentiveness of the staff. Unfortunately, the experience at your Tamarac location was the complete opposite and left us disappointed and disturbed.
From the moment we walked in, we were met with an unwelcoming and unprofessional attitude from the host, Buena. The very first words out of her mouth were, “This is Dinner time,” spoken with a visible attitude and no sense of hospitality. We chose to overlook the comment, hoping the service would improve.
However, when Buena came to take our drink order, one of my family members politely remarked that she could at least smile. Her response was, “I don’t need to smile,” delivered in an unnecessarily rude and defensive tone. This behavior is not only unprofessional but also reflects very poorly on your establishment’s customer service standards.
Things only got worse from there. Buena threw the receipt on the table without a word, and we were left waiting at least 10 to 15 minutes without a single server approaching us. No one brought silverware, no one asked if we needed refills, and no waitress or waiter was ever assigned to our table. This was beyond unacceptable.
At that point, I got up to speak with the manager. To her credit, the manager was courteous and attempted to resolve the situation, and we appreciated her professionalism. However, by then, the damage was already done. Despite our better judgment, we decided to stay—but even after speaking with the manager, we still received no table service.
One of my family members ordered hot tea, and when it finally arrived, the cup had a lipstick stain on it. This is a clear sign of unsanitary practices, and we immediately brought it to the manager’s attention. By that point, we had completely lost our appetite and left extremely dissatisfied.
This was, without question, one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had. Not only was the service unacceptable, but the attitude of the host was offensive and dismissive. It is clear that this location does not hold itself to the same standards as your Pembroke Pines location, where we have always been treated with dignity and respect—regardless of who we are.
After this experience, I looked into public reviews of this location and was not surprised to see a pattern of complaints about poor service, rude staff, and unhygienic conditions. We are not the only ones who have had such issues, which suggests a much larger management and training problem.
I hope you take this feedback seriously. We are still hopeful that Chow Time as a brand values its customers and will work to improve the training and accountability of staff, particularly at...
Read moreI went for my Daughter's birthday dinner. We bond over Sushi and Oriental food in general, ever since I told her we both have restaurants named after us because our names are Japanese. I say this to say, although she's 9, she's made it her mission to understand Sushi 😂😂 . She absolutely loves this place and can't wait to go back. I loved everything but the bill lol. It's expensive, but extremely worth it. Considering everything I mention below, the price of the buffet won't matter. It's a buffet after COVID, so that naturally causes skepticism, but it was very clean. There were hand sanitizer stations and bottles throughout the restaurant, and the dining areas are large for spacing if needed. The Sushi bar was massive, I mean the different selections were amazing. They did not disappoint. It was fresh and easily accessible. There is a Hibachi option where you choose your own raw meats/veggies for the chef to prepare in front of you. There is a raw seafood bar over ice. There is an ice cream cooler that seems like it's regularly changed for freshness. Next to that was a few choices for desserts. The options could've been better, but no one is really trying to overstuff on sweets after eating so much already. Putting out options that don't get eaten could be a loss for the restaurant, so I understood that. There was a Salad bar, Soup station, and area for cold deli style items. The buffet served fresh hot food, mainly American style Chinese dishes. The servers were consistently changing out half/empty or warm trays that have been sitting to ensure quality. The service in the dining area was fast. Our server was very polite and attentive to everyone in her area. Clearing tables and asking if we were okay with drinks. Overall, I had a good time. The other customers seemed to enjoy themselves as well. Good energy, great food, and service. Plus the location is very convenient. I will be back,...
Read moreYou get what you pay for. Lunch is $11.99, $10.99 for Seniors. At this price point the quality of the food has to be compromised and it is.
However, there is still a wide enough selection of choices that if you have eaten here multiple times you will have learned which dishes just aren’t very good, which dishes are good and which dishes make you want to come back for more! As each of us has different things that we like and different taste buds I will NOT impose my favorites upon you. I might like one type of soup, while you like another. I might like one flavor of ice cream while you prefer a different flavor.
The offering is extensive. Oysters and cold shrimp to go with extensive sushi rolls and sashimi. There are cold salads (Kim chi, seaweed salad, cucumber, onion & tomato to name a few).
The hot dishes range from fish to beef to pork to chicken to shrimp to imitation crab meat. There might even be one crab meat dish. I am not certain. Plenty to choose from. I find many of them to be on the salty side and have just learned to eat them with noodles to cut down the saltiness.
You will find many things you enjoy. There is even a Hibachi Grill. I have never taken advantage of it despite having come here close to a dozen times.
There are your standard, Won Ton, Egg Drop and Hot and Sour soups. I mix egg drop with hot and sour. YUM! They also have Miso and Shrimp soups.
Leave just a little room for dessert. Your choice of ice cream and little cakes. They are not the best unless the brownies are out.
Please tip the wait staff generously. They will be refilling your drink and removing your plates each time you are done and ready to go foraging again at the...
