If you are looking to get a authentic Cuban sandwich this is NOT the place for it.. An authentic Cuban sandwich consists of ham, pork, cheese, mustard, pickles and the works is optional (lettuce & tomatoes etc) and what you get here is a good amount of ham and SALAMI, a very LIGHT layer of shaved pork spread along the bread, cheese, mustard and pickles on a cuban bread toasted.. I never have had a Cuban Sandwich with salami in it, also asked for the works and got pickles only.. Their Guava pastries are eehh, nothing special about them.. This bakery is over priced; I give it a 3/5..
REPLY TO OWNER:: IT'S MY OPINION, don't see why you so offended by it.. If u aim to please you OBVIOUSLY FAILED for I asked for a CUBANO REGULAR SIN MOSTAZA CON LECHUGA Y TOMATES in Spanish to make sure I was understood YET Received the "Tampa Cuban" wit no lettuce or tomatoes.. It wasn't to my liking and definitely not what I expected or know as an AUTHENTIC Cuban; my dog did enjoy it though 😁.. If I would've known it had salami, I would've asked for it to be removed or taken my happy a** somewhere else.. I've visited your bakery 2ce (including recent visit) within a 3.5 yrs time period and I highly doubt I will ever return nor recommend your bakery to others.. C U NEVER.. 🖖🏼 AGAIN THIS IS MY OPINION, NO NEED TO GET OFFENDED BY IT.....
Read moreI’ve been a customer of Angelito’s Bakery for many years now. The last 2 times I’ve been there I bought cakes that tasted rancid & had a noticeable musky odor once cut open. It’s a shame that such a recognized latino bakery be selling expired products to the public. This was the last time I purchase anything from this place.
P.S. Editing my comment is response to your reply since I am not able to reply below.
No disrespect intended but I beg to disagree. Did you purchase the cake?Did you cut and attempted to eat cake? I don’t think so. As previously stated I purchased 2 cakes on 2 different occasions for family gatherings and both times the cakes tasted rancid and were musky. I attempted to give your store a second chance- given I’ve been a customer for many years- without first calling to inquire about the storage or disposal process of unsold items. I explained my experience and was politely told my concern would be escalated, but to this day I have yet to receive a call from the store owner. I do not appreciate you calling me a liar because I pride myself on my integrity and will gladly have the rest of the persons present at the gathering back this review, not because they know me but because is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH! Thank you and have...
Read moreWe live in North Carolina now, but we’re Floridians born and Raised—always on the hunt for pastelitos and a proper Cuban sandwich when visiting Florida. This was our first time visiting the area, and we were really hoping to find an authentic Cuban bakery (not another tourist trap).
The ladies here were incredibly kind and welcoming—especially Dayana, who was an absolute sweetheart, even after my husband forgot to leave a tip (don’t worry, I fixed that by making another purchase!).
We tried a little bit of everything: pastelitos de guayaba, croquetas de jamón, a Cuban sandwich, an eclair, and tostada with café con leche. Everything was fresh and delicious.
That said, there were two minor letdowns:
They had run out of Cuban bread, which really affected the sandwich experience. Let’s be real—the bread makes the Cuban.
The eclair was filled with mousse instead of traditional custard, which was a little disappointing for us purists.
Still, the overall experience was great, and we’ll definitely be back. The warmth of the staff and the quality of the food (especially those pastelitos!) won us over.
Side note: the prices are not bad compared to other places. Inflation is real people! Everyone is out here surviving. Support your...
