Capricho's deli Coffee — Restaurant in Tampa

We wanted to try fun Dominican food for breakfast and this was our option! This place was a little tricky to find since the sign apparently blew off the roof and the sign said it was a pizza place. But, I don't give up easy and we were on a mission to try something new!

The inside is spotless and very well decorated. I was greeted by Kai who kindly took my order. At first, I ordered a meat lovers omelet with chorizo and other tasty meats. Second, I ordered a veggie omelet for me. Kai was very helpful. But then, I realized I wasn't really sure what a Dominican would eat for breakfast.

I asked what a Dominican would eat and Kai, his mother Heidy, and a customer all explained the answer was the Mangu breakfast. Without even knowing what it was, I ordered it. The enthusiastic customer told me he gets it multiple times a week! We all chatted for a while. Heidy explained it includes plantains, pickled onions, eggs, fried cheese and chorizo! Wow! That sounds interesting and wonderful.

Heidy and Kai were so gracious and welcoming and I truly appreciated their hospitality. As for the food, it was flavorful and plentiful. We really enjoyed it and honestly, couldn't finish it so we saved leftovers for dinner.

Welcome to the Dominican Republic in Tampa, specifically Temple Terrace. Wow! We can't wait to try something else!

I'd never fail to visit Capricho's Deli when I visit this small plaza on Busch Ave. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Busch Gardens area. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! I have to say... I really enjoyed every single bite of the meal at Capricho's Deli. I had asopao with rice on this visit, and considering the quality of this delicious meal, the price is reasonable. Also, Heidy is great and always efficient, happy, and polite. I happened to be in the area and was just looking for a coffee and breakfast sandwich. I saw this place had 5 stars on Google but didn't really look at anything past that. When I walked in, I was greeted by a wonderful lady and found out this was a domincan family owned restaurant. I love trying new foods and let her order for me. Her father made me the most delicious, authentic Dominican breakfast and coffee. I was so happy I found this place and highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area!
