Gengiz Khan Restaurant — Restaurant in Tampa

I have eaten at turkish resturants through out florida and not only is this the worst experience with turkish, but to date this is the worst experience I have had of any resturant, my girlfriend was craving turkish, so we went and after a good five minutes of standing there a hostess came to seat us, the table we were seated at was dirty and we sat there for a good 45 minutes as the help kept walking around talking to each other and no one cared to take our order, it was not even busy there were 5 employees and only two tables aside from us, there is no reason it should have taken 45 minutes, several of the employees looked at us and simply walked passed us, their over priced menu had less than a fraction of any other turkish resturant we have been to, we finally ordered and I ordered a turkish soda and my girlfriend a coke to drink, and a cold appitizer and two soups as well as two entrees the appitizer came out as well as her coke but my drink did not, after 10 minutes passed I asked about my drink then tge waitress said they were out, no apology or anything, so I said I wanted a turkish beer instead, 5 minutes later she brought me a coke, and our entrees came, mind you they forgot about the soup which we ordered compared to other turkish resturants the portions were small and the food was not fresh we weren't yet finished with the appitizer but they took it up without asking, the food quality was sub par at best when finished we reminded the server that they forgot our soup and my beer she didn't even apologise the bill some how came to 97 dollars plus a suggested tip of 25% so we just paid and then went to the bathroom, the batroom had no soap, no paper towels, and the toilet was clogged not to mention the floor was coated in urine, and urine stains, so to sum up worst service, crappy food, nasty bathroom and even nastier attitude from the staff I wouldn't even take my mother in...

I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant for catering. We order a catering order from them. It was a straightforward order with a 5:00pm pick up time. We sat with the manager, Ben, who was lovely. We ordered it at noon the same day. We asked if there were any issues to order the same day with a pick up time at 5. He said it was no problem. My husband went to pick up the food at 5pm, our party started then. They told him it would be ready in 7 min. He waited. Then had to ask them again 20 min later when it would be ready. They said 5 more min. Finally at 5:45, the food was ready. He sat there for 45 min while our guests were at our house. They should have been honest and told him that the food was not going to be ready for another 45 min. I called the owner the next day to let him know what happened. He was extremely defensive and said you needed to order the day before in order to guarantee an on time order. I mentioned, I was calling him first to see if he would make it right (maybe discount our order by 10% or at least apologize). He started yelling at me to not tell him how to run his business and said, I'll give you your money back when you bring our food back. Honestly, if I was this business owner I would think twice about being in the service industry. I'm not sure it is a great fit for his personality. The sad part about the entire thing, is the food was good. Too bad they are terrible with service. Had they just said to my husband when he got there, "I'm really sorry, your order won't be ready for 45 min, would you like a soda or water while you wait, or can we deliver when it's ready," We would have been understanding and said sure we will come...

Worst Dinner Experience Ever. I made the mistake of planning a surprise birthday dinner for my wife at this restaurant, and invited about 20 friends to join us. After arriving at the restaurant, it took about twenty minutes for someone to come and get a drink order from my wife and I. Another 15 minutes goes by without receiving our drinks, then the server comes back and lets me know that he lost our drink order, and I have to resubmit it to him. It took about another 15 minutes to get our drinks. In the meantime, some of our party received their meals, others did not. After over two hours waiting for our food (those of us that never got it) our guests began canceling their orders, and going elsewhere to get dinner. My wife (the birthday girl) and I finally followed suit after asking our server how our food was coming, and him not even being able to give us a straight answer as to whether or not our food has even begun to be cooked yet. I worked in food hospitality for a few years when I was younger, and I know that there are times when you, or the restaurant you work for just have an "off night". Because of that, I typically always give a restaurant a second chance. In this situation though, as absolutely terrible as this experience was, I could not ever talk myself into giving this restaurant another chance. Their staff is beyond incompetent. I see other reviews talking about how great the food is there. That's great...if you ever get your food. I looked around the restaurant as we were waiting for our food to arrive, and saw many other people impatiently waiting for their food as well.
