Amazing coffee in a great location with excellent service. You will probably like this place if you enjoy a tasty light-medium roast with good flavor. In my opinion, this is Tampa Bay's best coffee on offer.
The taste pairs with the vibes of Downtown Tampa very well. I usually get the nitro with vanilla and lavender (was suggested to me on my first visit), and it tasted so good that I just kept coming back for it. The flavor is smooth, light and airy, yet strong enough to pack a punch. Very talented coffee roasting abilities. Very tasty coffee.
On my last visit, they didn't have any nitro, so I asked the guy for a Cold Brew creation of his own, he asked me a question or two about my coffee preferences, and he had a look on his face like he knew exactly what to do. 45 seconds later he handed me this beautiful concoction, I said thank you very much and walked out the door. This whole process of walking in, talking, paying, and leaving took only 2-3 minutes.
Very simple and elegant modern interior styling, nice to look at, but not so fancy as to be...
Read moreI’ve been coming to kahwa (various locations for years). Over the past couple years, specifically recently, the breakfast sandwiches are just awful. They don’t cook/prepare them the way they used to and it’s a 50/50 gamble. When they are made properly, it is to die for, and I’ve been eating them for years. It’s frustrating because there is really no where else to get a good croissant sandwich. Also, never order more than one croissant sandwich- it seems as though they all get put into the microwave together and are not cooked evenly. I ordered three sandwiches for my husband and I yesterday and they were all – literally – cold and hard. The cheese tasted like it was straight out of the fridge. This scenario has happened nearly every time we order more than one sandwich and we use the drive thru and don’t have time to come inside to have it fixed. On the bright side, I don’t drink coffee anymore, but when I did, I loved kahwa’s hot lattes. Certain drinks aren’t that great but the small hot lattes were...
Read moreCoffee to definitely rival that of Starbucks. A little disappointed that most coffee places, like Kahwa and Starbucks, still lump a cuban coffee in with an espresso (which it is not) and do not have it as a menu item. The barrista promised that he knew how to make a cuban coffee but served an espresso instead: the lack of espuma gave it away before the first sip, and though it was a good espresso, it was nevertheless not a cafecito cubano.
However, the menu selections that they do offer are good and my wife, who is Jordanian, was delighted by their coffee and ambiance. I mention Jordanian because this place's name, 'Kahwa', means 'brother' in Arabic and is a word that is commonly used. The Arabic style coffee is fabulous here and the staff is pleasant and courteous.
At then end of our visit in which we sat outside the entire time, we ordered a pound of coffee to go. It was ground in front of us and deposited into an airtight...
