Marlene's Original Breakfast Sandwich — Restaurant in Tampa

Honestly screw this place. I’ve been a thousand times but the lack of customer service this time will NEVER bring us back.

We placed an order on Uber for pickup- was supposed to be ready at 11:08, went at 11:12 and it wasn’t ready. Stood around for 10 minutes- no update. 15 minutes- they told my husband they were finishing it up.Finally after 20 minutes (and watching the ENTIRE CROWD dissipate)- told my husband they missed his order like he hadn’t previously told him they were working on it but they could “make it now.” My husband asked to cancel. They said ok. 5 minutes later, still wasn’t cancelled. I walked up to the counter asking what the holdup was on either the order OR cancelling it since absolutely no action was taken- they told me to cancel it myself. Which since the order said it was READY ON MY END would’ve resulted in paying them $30 for two sandwiches that we did not get after what was now 30 minutes of waiting PAST the time it was “ready for pickup”. Finally after 46 minutes of standing around the store with the three bumbling idiots inside (most especially the cashier) we are walking away with no breakfast, no apology, no compensation, and two upset kids.

If you MISS AN ORDER and string someone along for this long you should at the very least offer to make it anyway or APOLOGIZE. I worked in restaurants too long to consider a single thing that happened today appropriate.

First impression: what is this place? Where did I just go? Do I really want to eat here? Second impression: simple food choices. Attentive staff. Third impression: Oh my god, this food is fantastic! As a little hole in the wall food truck looking place, just driving by, even pulling into the parking lot, you won't expect much. Much. But there's a reason why the reviews are so high for this place, the food is absolutely fantastic. I tried the number four and the number eight, no complaints whatsoever. They were not busy when I got there, maybe two people in front of me. Maybe a minute after I sat down, my food was already ready. Proportion sizes are not huge, but they're not small. As a 6'2, 200 lb guy, the food portions were very satisfying and I definitely had my fill. Not too much to make you regret eating, but certainly enough to make you feel satisfied. The home brewed coffee was great, not too bitter, I got the iced version, I really enjoyed it. For what it is, the price is do seem a bit high but I suppose the same can be said for everything else going on in the world right now. But at the end of the day, still totally worth it. 5 out of five, will eat there again, and tell...

im from jersey so trust me when i say that this is one of the best breakfast sandwich spots ive ever had.

been here a couple of times, but ive really only gotten two of their 12 sandwiches. the uncle and the sunrise beef. both were amazing. the uncle is a fresh cracked fried egg, with their turkey sausage, muenster cheese, jalapeno crisps, and spinach artichoke spread on a cuban breakfast roll. its the perfect amount of hearty, savory, and filling sandwich! the sunrise beef was an over easy egg, 1/3 angus beef, cheese, tomatoes, grill onions, their zesty sauce on a cuban breakfast roll! bites of heaven!

the people behind the register are super nice and super overwhelmed. there is usually a long line with long orders so sometimes you'll be waiting 15 min for your food but trust me, its worth it.
