My experience here was very unfortunate as I have typically avoided the place due to the area that it is located. I've lived and worked in the area for well over 20 years in a number of capacities. I am familiar with the stigma attached to certain eateries and the areas they may haunt. This wasn't my first visit but it has been well over 15 years since my last. Interstate 275 has had a lot of road construction which has left the spot in obscurity for most vehicle traffic. It was dead when I decided to stop and dine-in and allow the 7pm interstate traffic shred brake lights. I had very low expectations upon entering just because of the area (which isn't always a direct reflection on service.) LOW isn't NO. So yeah I expected indifferent faces with no attempt to connect with a customer and perhaps a little attitude. I used to eat at a soul food restaurant not more than 1 mile from this Popeyes that was literally someones house converted into a kitchen. Good food, great attitude, and a staple of the community!
However what I experienced yesterday was very disappointing. Prior to ordering I recognized there was tension between the staff during the 3 minute dialogue with the one person ahead of me. It happens....what I never saw happen is hear an employee openly share that they don't like the shift or the customers on the shift. The exact words she chose while taking orders: "Y'all can keep this shift and it's customers." I was expecting the manager to speak up. Unless the cashier was the manager? No one said anything. She continued to rant and make accusatory remarks that appeared to fall on the person in the back. Who immediately tried to figure out what she was looking for while asking why she was going about it like she was. The cashier was a bully who created a hostile work environment. They all carried on arguing and raising voices while people in front listened and watched. I don't care if it was an isolated incident it was horrible. The Cashier also felt it was too much work to tell the customers who were trying to choose sides what sides they had available. She pointed over her shoulders with her thumb and just held it their. She missed the point that those ordering couldn't see the menu. I guess she dislikes handicap people too? They asked respectfully which was more than the cashier deserved and she was too blind to see that the couple had vision problems. They shouldn't have to... The food sucked, service sucked, and the employee as well as the manager of this location need to be replaced....
Read morei drive up and order a two can dine mild chicken strip meal, the window attendee was attending personal matters on his phone and was not please to serve me, he cashed me out with out completing my order, and seemed surprised when i asked him if i can choose my sides, for he had elected them for me. he asked me to pull up by the exit door and wait for my order. after 3, other customers had their orders filled i stepped out of my vehicle to check on my order, my mistake... i interrupted whatever he was doing on his phone. i get home my son tells me the tenders are spicy. i checked, indeed they were. i go back and asked the same attendee, how did he mixed my order up, after i clarify my order in correction of his misunderstanding of said order. his co-worker proceeded to tear in to the chicken tenders in a manner that displayed discontent. i requested to speak to the manager, she seemed bothered by my articulation of my very unpleasant experience., after dealing with her i get why her store runs the way it does. i expressed the need for customer centricity, as well how it is that the leadership is reflected on the ones being lead. she then expressed the same behavior as the ones she leads, it just looked worst, considering her position. she instructed her team to use their mature minds, and just ignore anything i had to say.... she offer a refund, i initially denied it, thinking of my son. however after further consideration i went with my better judgment and accepted the refund. the whole interaction was being monitored by the security system employed at the location... i gave it a 1star review otherwise, i could not share my...
Read moreI was traveling through the Tampa area for business and I went through the drive through and ordered 3 chicken legs and a side of mashed potatoes. When I got many miles away with my order and was ready to eat I opened my bag to find that there were no chicken legs or mashed potatoes only chicken tenders that I did not order. I’m a very understanding person and get that mistakes happen. I called and let the lady know that my order was incorrect and she replied oh yeah we gave you the tenders instead. I asked what could be done about it and was told I needed to bring the tenders back to get my correct food or a refund. I let her know that I only had a short lunch break and was unable to return and just wanted my card refunded. She hung up on me. I called back several times and didn’t get an answer. I called again 20 minutes later and spoke with a different lady and was told in order to get a refund I would need to return the chicken tenders to get my money back. I let her know I did not live in that area and was unable to return. She said okay and hung up. I called back thinking we got disconnected. The same person answered and I told her I think we got disconnected and she replied that we didn’t get disconnected and she said okay. I asked if okay meant she was going to refund me and she said only if you bring the food back. The First Lady I spoke admitted that they knew they gave me tenders instead of what I ordered. It sounds to me like they want me to bring back the tenders so they can serve them to...
