We shouldn’t have to do their job. Chestnut Villas has four bedroom, two bath houses located within a few miles of the Tampa airport. If only communications were better. Our unit was switched three times, the phone number was out of service, and requests were met unevenly and in bizarre manners. The unit was initially missing spoons, a coffee maker, tv, toilet paper, toaster, glasses, etc. After several, unanswered texts, there was a large delivery on the porch from Walmart—without any notification, such as a text, or even a knock on the door! We had opened the door to consider whether or not to move the rental car. (The neighborhood is sketchy.) At around 11:00 pm, the maintenance man arrived to fix the AC. If only I had a roll of painter’s tape I would mark the broken cabinets, door off it hinge, grimy baseboards, markers on the wall, and fix a large X on the wall with the missing TV. We paid an additional $150 for cleaning. If only, all the surfaces actually had been cleaned, instead of leaving the soles of my feet black. Unlike most short-term rentals, there was no soap, only a decanter with a solution carrying a whiff of Pine-sol. The maintenance worker and a quality control person arrived Saturday morning, who took a video. However, nothing else was fixed or cleaned. Despite assurances, no TV arrived. Then the Wi-Fi went out and we had to use our hot spots! This was a disruptive and...
Read moreThis was the worst property I have ever stayed at. Upon arrival to the property we spent over 40 minutes trying to get a hold of someone to be able to check in. We called multiple numbers until one of them texted us back saying we had to pay a cleaning fee through cash app, Apple Pay, or Zelle. We found this really suspicious and wanted to be sure it was legit so we called hotels customer service again. They told us to not pay any fee at first but then after speaking with the property management they said oh yeah you should pay the fee. I told them we were just skeptical bc it’s to a random number through a non secure way and they literally said “yeah sometimes things can be suspicious”. After paying the fee we were given an access code to a unit that was not our original unit, and when we arrived we found another family there trying to check into the same unit. When we walked through the unit, we found dead bugs on the floor and the bed. It was dirty and smelled of cigarette smoke. There was only one roll of toilet paper in the entire 4 bedroom house and the garage was full of trash like old dirty mattresses. The toilets were extremely dirty with urine. We decided to not stay at the property and were told there is nothing they could do about these conditions. Please save yourself the trouble and...
Read moreThis property doesn’t have a front desk so trying to get anything done is not gonna happen in a timely manner although the phone rep who is the middle person did her best to accommodate us but the results were slim to getting done…after sending a cashapp to the cleaning crew they have who didn’t clean everything properly we checked in (this is a 5 day 4 night stay) we received the door code and we walked the house, the cabinets and drawers had cooked food and a lil trash inside them, the fridge had soda or juice stains and also the freezer, it was only 1 TV in the living room in a whole 4 bedroom house and they stated that the last guest broke the master bedroom TV but it would be replaced the next day and we checked out today still without a TV in the master bedroom, the tub was backed up and they didn’t come to fix that until Sunday when we checked in Thursday. My next trip to Tampa I will enjoy but I won’t be staying here it’s not worth it, they did give us back the cleaning fee for the inconvenience but not the living experience you would want on a family...
