I encountered the epitome of ignorance. April 28, 2022 around 7PM EST I entered the lobby and noticed it was pretty backed up. I asked to find out who the last customer in the line was and patiently waited. I noticed the manager had no type of positive rapport with customers never issuing an apology to anyone about the delays and working with a frown as he slammed down drink cups. It took a long time to place my order, but I received my order in a normal time. I went to prepare my drink and the machine had no ice. The manager was the only person on the register so I asked a female employee that was the only other person in the front if I could have my cup filled with ice. She hissed, frowned, sighed and made all type of ignorant gestures to which I replied "If it requires all that nevermind". She said something smart and including that she was busy as if I could no see they were all working. I did not ask her to get it immediately, but when we made eye contact and she was a foot away from my face I saw no harm in asking. There was a bitter exchange and I asked the manager for ice and he was nasty and before he could stop serving attitude a nice female employee came around and filled my cup. Its unfortunate fast food gets low quality applicants like the manager and rude employee. The manager should have tried to diffuse the situation but he opted to show his lack of professionalism and everyone saw why his employee behaves the way she does, he is the exact same. The manager was a slender dark complexion male with medium length dreads and gold teeth. He should not manage people or even work in the...

Fair Review of the Popeyes on Hillsborough & 22nd Street
I hope someone from management or corporate takes the time to read this review so they can understand what customers experience at this location. One of my family members loves Popeyes chicken and asks for it daily, but I honestly dread visiting this store because the drive-thru times are consistently long — often between 20 and 30 minutes.
When the line is wrapped around the building, I’ve gone inside to order, only to see some employees on their phones, laughing, and talking instead of helping customers. This may be part of why the drive-thru moves so slowly. Honestly, you’re sometimes better off parking and going inside rather than using the drive-thru.
Another recurring issue is that they frequently run out of Ghost Pepper Wings. It’s very frustrating to wait 30 minutes in line, only to reach the speaker and be told they’re out of what you came for.
This store could easily earn a five-star rating if they improved their focus on customer service, kept the drive-thru line moving efficiently, and ensured that popular menu items — especially the ones being advertised — were consistently available.
This Popeyes serves a large area here in Tampa, and the next location is several miles away, so it has a lot of potential. I truly hope corporate or local management can step in to make...
Read moreOkay, Popeye's chicken sandwiches are top notch, both the classic and spicy. The seasonings with the right amount of crunch make it a perfect meal. The portion size of the breast meat they put on is filling. It's not like those slim chicken-like patties. Also, as of now they have their ghost pepper chicken wings. This is a must try item. It's really not too spicy/hot, depends on your level of heat tolerance. Anyhow, super delicious, crunchy, and juicy. The ghost pepper seasoning is all in the pieces. We should've ordered more because we couldn't put these down. Got to get these while they still have them on the menu. Just to round out the order, we got the mac-n-cheese. That is comfort food that will stick to your bones. Super melty hot cheese on top of the gooey pasta elbows. That hit the spot, ready for a food coma after all that food. It sure was tasty though. Now everyone knows that this location isn't known for their speed. Just at order taking takes a few minutes for someone to get to you. I seem to notice that 2-3 cars behind always reverse and leave because of the wait. If they can fix the order taking wait time, this location would make more $$$ rather than lose business. Still, die hard foodies will wait it out. For "fast" food chicken, it's...
