I come here often. The food is pretty good, specifically the brown stew chicken and white rice. I do wish the customer service was better. I assisted my mother with her order, and she was quite excited to order our meals. The woman taking our orders became openly frustrated at my mother's requests. My mother is a senior, and she can sometimes be overly stimulated and hyperactive. As I was trying to make the process easier, the lady serving the food became too focused on my mother's behavior and started being rude to my mother. I have worked in customer service for over 10 years, and I have learned the skill of being patient and not taking people's quirks and behaviors personal. Everyone is a paying customer. It comes with the territory. Sometimes it is difficult, but the lady's response to my mother was uncalled for. I was already right there. All she had to do was listen to me.
My mother was respectful and never rude or mean-spirited. She is older and has dealt with a mental condition for a few years. I just wish the lady serving the food would have just listened to me as I was communicating the order and not tried so hard to put my mother in her place. I was right there. That's my job to do. I was assisting my mother and calming her down as needed. I wish I didn't have to deal with someone else being openly short, sarcastic, and harsh with my mother in front of my face. They had a line in the place and when I asked for the Lunch Special, the lady didn't know what to do so she asked the other woman working and she had an attitude, told the girl something in her ear and then told me that they couldn't give it to me at the Lunch Special price although I was already in before 3. It's not my fault that they were busy and had a line of people. I simply refused to order and walked out. I was very appalled , upset and disappointed because I like the food and would go there after my Doctor's appointment.I had no problems ever from there when I frequented there in the past. I am about supporting a Black Owned business but, I will not tolerate a bad attitude and lack of Customer Service and give the business my hard earned money. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. I own a business myself and I trained my employees good communication skills and good consumer skills, so that when they enter my place of business , It's peaceful, happy, honest environment.
