My husband's favorite food is pizza. He could literally eat it every day! A friend said we should check out Sally O'Neal's. What we didn't realize is that we must have passed this place a thousand times LOL (it is across from Fresh Kitchen right down the street from Bern's, Bella's and Haven. We have been to all 🙂
We got there around 1:30 so they were not that busy yet with dine in guest. There is seating inside and outside with happy hour from 4-7pm. We sat at the bar (around 4/5 bar stools and beer and wine only). The staff was super friendly and attentive. There is a tv above the bar and I really liked the fact that they had a movie playing. Per their recommendation we started with the yummy bread sticks and the perfect mariner for dipping, 10/10. We watched the end of Jerry Maguire while we waited and drank a nice cold beer. For the pizza I wanted to try the goat cheese, prosciutto, roasted red pepper pizza and my hubby wanted a margarita. Our server heard us and suggested half and half which is what we did. Let me tell you we are both very picky about our pizzas especially the crust. There is an art to getting the flavor right and the right amount of crunch without making it taste like cardboard. And they definitely know what they are doing!! The margarita pizza sauce wasn't overpowering it was light, but with just the right amount of fresh tomato flavor, with the creaminess of the fresh mozzarella and fresh basil 10/10. The goat cheese, prosciutto, and roasted red pepper; I mean come on you can't go wrong with goat cheese and prosciutto!!! We both did agree that on this particular pizza, they could've done without the roasted red pepper. We just felt it was a bit over powering but thankfully there was not that many. I will order again without them. So for that reason we give it a 9/10.
It was also ranked #11 on Trip Advisor’s Top 30 Pizza’s for 2022🍕
If you are in the area definitely stop in and give them a try or place an order to go!! Overall rating...
Read moreI wasn't crazy about my food. I ordered the meatballs n spaghetti, chicken artichoke pizza then an order of Greek salad. I really enjoyed the Greek salad very much. However, I would never order the meatballs or the chicken pizza again. I love love garlic but that's all I could taste on the meatballs. As for the pizza, it was dry and there wasn't even a piece of chicken on each slice of pizza. They describe a white base for the pizza as one of the items. Maybe this was forgotten because it was dry and I didn't see any base on it. It was like eating dry bread sticks. Just terrible. I would buy the salad again but I would try a normal pizza next time. I will give them one more try on the pizza. I was super disappointed in that I paid over $54 and threw everything out except my salad. Yes I threw it out. Expensive mistake yes. I'll just order normal pizza next time. Lesson learned. Not sure who was cooking but I hope they see this, and I hope they'll never give a customer pizza like that again. And as for the spaghetti n meatballs, nothing positive to say there either and way too much sauce. I mean, a boat load and tasted like it was straight out of a can; very acidic. I wish I could upload photos but Google reviews no longer allows that. The environment is nice and the gal that helped me with my order was pleasant. The first gal with the Crocs was rude but then this nice gal came along and apologized and helped me. She made me want to come back. Thank you whoever you were 🤗 The purpose of this is not a bashing on the restaurant but to hopefully give them insight so they can improve. Apparently I'm not the only one on here complaining about the spaghetti n meatballs n bland, dry pizza. Wished I'd seen these reviews before ordering. Again, I absolutely loved the salad and I think it's safe to say that ordering a more normal...
Read morePizza was good. Service left much to be desired. They weren't rude or anything... Just not very accommodating and we had a large number of drinks that were unattended to. I had heard so many great things and I was left wondering what the fuss was about. To be fair, we had a large party, 13 people. We called ahead and they said it was slow and we would be seated easily, which we were. Ice water was brought it and never again refilled. Sodas were ordered and deliver... Never asked if we wanted another. We're sitting outside in 85°+ temps and you don't ask if someone wants their drink refreshed? We drive from Lutz down to this place for a great dining experience and, while the pizza was good, (B+ to A quality), and we get C- to D service. There are plenty of places that we passed with the same if not better pizza and we aren't left feeling like an after thought. And I totally understand, it's Sunday night afternoon on a holiday weekend. But with a parking lot that was half empty at times, a party of 13 shouldn't be that difficult. The separation of the check was almost comical. At the beginning of the ordering process, we explained how the parties were divided, and the orders were taken. But at the end of the meal, we are told that the checks can't be rung up separately. If that is the case, let the customers know when you first discuss it before ordering. This may have been the exception and not the norm, but I think it might be a while before I drive that far to be treated like I'm dining...
