I recently had the pleasure of dining at Smash Bun Burger in Tampa, Florida, and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience. Food is good. But 2/3 times i’ve been there there have been issues with staff and the menu. Their menu items are outdated as well as the prices. Their online ordering is also down, with no gluten free alternatives able to be requested, but they do have them in store which is nice. I wanted to place an online order, which did have a mushroom swiss but when I called the staff member had a ton of attitude and was not clear on telling me that it wasn’t on the menu and was so sarcastic and “smart” with me. asked if the mushroom swiss came as a single or double, he said either but then at the end told me i was upcharged for mushrooms because the mushroom swiss isn’t a thing, as if I am supposed to have the menu items memorized? and i needed to change it to another one if I wanted to do it that way, i said okay cancel it because this is too much. he said “it’s simple, do you want to change it or not” i informed him his attitude was the issue, i understand theyre busy, but it doesnt need to be taken out on customets, and he told me my attitude was the issue, and that he can’t have an attitude because Its too simple of a job to be mad at...

well searching for gluten-free options around Tampa this restaurant was recommended to me. having driven all the way to smash bun burgers I like the design of the menu and it's affordable prices. issues came when we found out that the gluten-free bun and the regular buns were both warmed on the same grill. to avoid cross contamination we had to ask them to give us a non-toasted gluten-free bun. this was okay as the staff were very accommodating in that aspect after I told them it was for an allergy. then I witnessed them cooking the burgers the same grill as the buns. this meant that the burgers that we ate were directly across contaminated with gluten.
