Hi my name is Brittany and I have no filter. We travel a lot. I like to find places on Google maps and try them out. Stayed local for a date night and found myself looking up Spaddys for our morning coffee during the ride back home! Pulled up, so excited.. IT WAS SO CUTE. I was then met by unnamed person(semi grumpy and not with my shit) we proceed to ask for custom coffee, yet this them/they hasn't smiled once. By now Ive felt like an inconvenience to his life. Paid my money, left I think maybe 18% tip and waited. My coffee was so delicious and so was my husband's. We walked around some local shops and then I went back to ask for the name of the man who made our coffee because like I said it was so good!!! While talking we just decided they/them was having a bad day and life goes on. Now I walk up and there is someone else while the other person is standing directly next to them, just out of sight and I begin to ask they/them about the other they/them.. said absolutely nothing negative with zero attitude. My exact words were that he made us custom coffees, they were great and I wanted to highlight their name in my review... I was refused a nameđ¤ˇââď¸ So other than the fact that it was everything I anticipated and more, this person was a serious buzz kill for someone that slings coffee for a living. I said what I said. I match energy. I walked up so happy and smiling, husband paid compliments on how cute the place was. I simply don't understand the gate keeping of the names. I wanted to make a review to include a name and maybe provide a little moral boost. But...
Read moreWHERE TO PARK: There are designated spots in front of Spaddyâs as well as in front of Faedoâs Bakery next door.
THE STORY: Greg Spaddacini started in 2015 with a humble trailer. He traveled around the Tampa Bay area to local markets, weddings, food truck rallies and all types  of different events.
In 2016, Spaddy's found an empty grass lot sandwiched to Faedo's Family Bakery and Vintage Post Marketplace on Florida Avenue. Now known as Spaddy's Courtyard we quickly created an outdoor, community driven coffee shop in the heart of Seminole Heights.
The emphasis was on coffee and community. He now offers a variety of specialty coffees, as well as tea, cookies, Cuban bread and light bites.
In 2019, Spaddy's collaborated with Raw Smoothie Co. and opened a first brick & mortar location on MacDill Avenue in South Tampa.
SUGGESTED ORDER: Try the lemonade and espresso for a different coffee flavor.
PRO TIP: Thereâs a very Instagrammable spot on the âlove wallâ in the courtyard. Just saying.
IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: You could spend serious time roaming the aisles at the Vintage Roost store to the north. Maybe pick up some Cuban bread for later at Faedoâs. And make sure you get to eat soon at Inchicoro ramen restaurant across the street. Whatever Pops is one of my favorite sweet...
Read moreGreat outdoor vibe and the coffee tastes good. BUT.... the barista that works there most weekdays (tall guy) is very rude. I seem to get him every time I go and itâs always the same experience. Heâs not friendly at all when he takes my order and heâs condescending and stand-off ish when Iâve asked him very normal questions about drinks on the menu. I always tip when I buy my coffee and he doesnât even say thank you after I pay (he doesnât even say âhave a nice day...â he just walks away in silence once I pay). And whenever I order an iced drink he only fills the cup like 3/4ths the way full..... and itâs not a drink that requires room for milk. If I pay about $5 for my drink, all I ask is that itâs filled to the top of the cup? Such a shame he has such rude customer service. Iâm not expecting every barista to be over the moon chippy and have a huge smile on their face, all I ask is for a regular level of friendliness?? Other local coffee shops have much friendlier baristas with same quality of coffee, so I donât think Iâm going to keep giving Spaddys my...
