Hi my name is Brittany and I have no filter. We travel a lot. I like to find places on Google maps and try them out. Stayed local for a date night and found myself looking up Spaddys for our morning coffee during the ride back home! Pulled up, so excited.. IT WAS SO CUTE. I was then met by unnamed person(semi grumpy and not with my shit) we proceed to ask for custom coffee, yet this them/they hasn't smiled once. By now Ive felt like an inconvenience to his life. Paid my money, left I think maybe 18% tip and waited. My coffee was so delicious and so was my husband's. We walked around some local shops and then I went back to ask for the name of the man who made our coffee because like I said it was so good!!! While talking we just decided they/them was having a bad day and life goes on. Now I walk up and there is someone else while the other person is standing directly next to them, just out of sight and I begin to ask they/them about the other they/them.. said absolutely nothing negative with zero attitude. My exact words were that he made us custom coffees, they were great and I wanted to highlight their name in my review... I was refused a name🤷‍♀️ So other than the fact that it was everything I anticipated and more, this person was a serious buzz kill for someone that slings coffee for a living. I said what I said. I match energy. I walked up so happy and smiling, husband paid compliments on how cute the place was. I simply don't understand the gate keeping of the names. I wanted to make a review to include a name and maybe provide a little moral boost. But here we are.

Give me that alleyway coffee any day of the week. Spaddy's is essentially a coffee truck that has set up in an alley in Seminole Heights and has built all kinds of interesting things around it. Old vans, mannequin parts, plants and murals join forces to create one of the most eclectic spots in all of the Bay area. All this design would be for naught if Spaddy's didn't have a good product. Thankfully they do. Spaddy's is probably the only coffee shop I've frequented that has convinced me to regularly purchase their special. They know how to marry unique and original in a tasty way. I remember an orange flavored latte (called the Florida Man) that really showed me how coffee can leave typical behind and become something new and fascinating. Spaddy's offers food items, I've never tried any of it. They also sell whole beans so you can bring their coffee home. I bought their Heights Blend home during my last visit. I was not disappointed.

First time here! Have had this placed saved for a long time but never manage to wake up early enough to catch the opening time so I'm glad I manage to catch it today! Ordered their Cafe Con leache with almond milk and it was good! The spot is super hidden so it was hard to locate it but I love it! It's a nice mini spot with few parking but I'm assuming there's more in the back side. Cute little paradise looking spot! Would need to come back to try out their food selections! Workers were friendly as well! Makes the experience 10x enjoyable. I can envision this place popping during warmer weathers so will have to come by when it does get warmer again.

WHERE TO PARK: There are designated spots in front of Spaddy’s as well as in front of Faedo’s Bakery next door.

THE STORY: Greg Spaddacini started in 2015 with a humble trailer. He traveled around the Tampa Bay area to local markets, weddings, food truck rallies and all types  of different events.

In 2016, Spaddy's found an empty grass lot sandwiched to Faedo's Family Bakery and Vintage Post Marketplace on Florida Avenue. Now known as Spaddy's Courtyard we quickly created an outdoor, community driven coffee shop in the heart of Seminole Heights.

The emphasis was on coffee and community. He now offers a variety of specialty coffees, as well as tea, cookies, Cuban bread and light bites.

In 2019, Spaddy's collaborated with Raw Smoothie Co. and opened a first brick & mortar location on MacDill Avenue in South Tampa.

SUGGESTED ORDER: Try the lemonade and espresso for a different coffee flavor.

PRO TIP: There’s a very Instagrammable spot on the “love wall” in the courtyard. Just saying.

IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD: You could spend serious time roaming the aisles at the Vintage Roost store to the north. Maybe pick up some Cuban bread for later at Faedo’s. And make sure you get to eat soon at Inchicoro ramen restaurant across the street. Whatever Pops is one of my favorite sweet...

Great outdoor vibe and the coffee tastes good. BUT.... the barista that works there most weekdays (tall guy) is very rude. I seem to get him every time I go and it’s always the same experience. He’s not friendly at all when he takes my order and he’s condescending and stand-off ish when I’ve asked him very normal questions about drinks on the menu. I always tip when I buy my coffee and he doesn’t even say thank you after I pay (he doesn’t even say “have a nice day...” he just walks away in silence once I pay). And whenever I order an iced drink he only fills the cup like 3/4ths the way full..... and it’s not a drink that requires room for milk. If I pay about $5 for my drink, all I ask is that it’s filled to the top of the cup? Such a shame he has such rude customer service. I’m not expecting every barista to be over the moon chippy and have a huge smile on their face, all I ask is for a regular level of friendliness?? Other local coffee shops have much friendlier baristas with same quality of coffee, so I don’t think I’m going to keep giving Spaddys my...
