This is not just a dinner, it is an experience. Recommendations: Mocktails, Waygu Beef Carpaccio, table side pesto pasta, and most importantly the Italian Donuts. This is a lovely modern Italian experience in the heart of Hyde Park! The table side pasta is definitely enough to feed three people or two very hungry people. We got the waygu beef carpaccio appetizer with black truffles and it was delightful. Nicely rounded flavor in each bite! I got the lobster risotto and it was nothing to write home about, by the time it got to me is was less than warm and the lobster was so tuff that the table shook trying to cut it. My companion ordered the pasta dish and it was a really cool experience and actually was a fantastic pesto dish, probably the best pesto pasta in Tampa. We wrapped up the evening with the Italian donuts and I would actually go back just for the donuts if I found myself wanting dessert one evening. The donuts are filled with a cannoli cream filling and served in a Smokey dome and drizzled with chocolate and Carmel table side. Hands down best donut ever. Food gets a solid five stars. Our server was very nice and professional, however, slow. Our entire experience took a little more than two hours on a Friday night and we had reservations for over a month. Hard to track down our server and he could have made a better effort to check on us if the kitchen was backed up as we ran out of mocktails twice. The gentleman that prepared the pasta dish had a great personality and did a great job of teaching us about all of the components. The only dings to the service experience is the slowness of how everything went. Overall, I will be back and had a wonderful time. Great for a date night, celebration dinner, or experience with friends. Be prepared to drop a pretty penny, however, it’s worth it.

We went there for our anniversary dinner. We had the Burrata with pistachio butter and tomato jam for starters, Radiatore with truffles and mushrooms, and Rigatoni with charred tomatoes for the mains, and creamed spinach and eggplant polpette for the sides. We also had a smoked old fashioned and Amalfi passion fruit gin drink. Since we are vegetarian and my husband doesn’t eat eggs, we were offered the gluten-free lentil pasta option, and therefore instead of radiatore and rigatoni, we had penne instead for our pasta dishes. Everything was super delicious and very filling- so much that we didn’t have room for dessert! I especially recommend the radiatore and the burrata. If you’re a vegetarian or if you don’t eat eggs, you will not be disappointed with the food at Timpano. However, there were a few downers too. The first was that the maitre d’ was pretty rude and unwelcoming in her tone and demeanor. I had made a reservation the day before. Upon arriving, the host asked my name a couple of times and even though it is an Indian name it is not difficult to pronounce or spell. She told me she didn’t have my reservation when I had made one the day before and also called again earlier the same day before visiting to move the reservation to 8:30. However, she offered me a reservation at the moment. The second was that even though there wasn’t too much of a rush as it was a Thursday, the waiters seemed to be running around initially and didn’t even offer or ask us for water. During the course of our dinner, our server became more attentive and asked us about the food, water and such, and packed the leftovers for us. If I go here again, it is definitely for the food.

I work in restaurants and to be honest this experience was fantastic. The only critique I have of the entire experience was the hostess, young and didn't seem interested in attending to us whatsoever. The vibe was perfect, I felt like I could stay all day! Our server was very knowledgeable and professional but in a casual way that made us feel comfortable and taken care of. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic, I have no doubt anything you try will not let you down but I tried and highly recommend the following: Calamari - super light breading with lots of pepper 🌶 rings and has a hot honey drizzle that pairs perfectly with the lemon aioli and the house marinara Meatballs - bigger than I expected and not a ton of filler, chunky and meaty with a ton of flavor and the creaminess of the burrata/tomato sauce mixture fills in all the cracks. The ciabatta bread is to die for also Kale Caesar - light and lemony. Absolutely delicious. HUGE Croutons, dressing is so fresh and transparent but really delivers in flavor Bucatini Pesto Pasta - we went for lunch so they don't do it Tableseide, it's made in the kitchen instead but OH MY GOODNESS, it was so delicious. So many herbaceous flavors mixed with a true "alfredo" of fresh Parmesan 😋 I can't wait to go back and try it from the actual wheel Overall wonderful experience and can't wait to go back!
