Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Tampa

First and foremost, we miss you Leon... and we love Desiree! Anyway, this is usually THE BEST location out there, especially in terms of Customer Service and great quality of food, but today something was definitely off... even 2 other people were complaining in there, so I know we are not the only ones who could tell the service sucked today! Our office orders from Tropical Cafe frequently, and in most cases we will order before we arrive and let them know the exact timeframe we will arrive so that it is ready for pick-up. Usually, the food is ready, but today we had to wait around. In addition, another customer claimed she left her wallet in the car... Instead of the Tropical worker (and I can point her out ANYDAY) saying "sorry" or "thank you for your patience," she just walked away from the cash register and left 3 of us waiting for 7-10 minutes before I had to shout to the back about how it wasn't fair to the rest of us that we were all waiting because of another woman who clearly was going much farther than her car to get her lost wallet. On top of all that, I heard a different price than I usually hear... been ordering the exact same order for a year, and I heard a higher price this time, very odd. Overall, today was horrible, not to mention the slight arguing in the back... whatever that was all about... I like the food, and this location is the closest to us, so we will be back, but I hope our next visit is a much more pleasant one...

Typically Tropical Smoothie on "Neptune" is the ONLY location I order from, and tell others to order from, as their smoothies over the years have been amazing. My favorite is the Peanut Paradise, as the flavor of peanut butter is very prevalent and the smoothie is wonderful. I am not sure if there is a shortage of peanut butter, or if the recipe has changed, but the past FOUR orders where I ordered the Peanut Paradise has been absolutely awful. There is little to no peanut butter flavor, leaving the smoothie tasting like a overly sweet watered down banana. I thought the first time I encountered this was a fluke, but I have ordered 4 times recently hoping to give them a chance, but to no avail. I even placed an order today giving it one more try, and for the 4th time I have tossed the entire thing in the trash. To prove I am not just trying to submit a fake review, my most recent order nos. are: F8BFO, 6E66B, B1E53, and 348BD. Now I will say this, when I order my Peanut Paradise I also order the Green Detox for friends in the office, and they have NO complaints what-so-ever, so I wanted to add that in. I will also say all other products I have ordered from this location have been GREAT. I just miss my wonderful Peanut Paradise. Please, someone find some peanut butter, or go back to the original recipe that has been wonderful for the past few...

Placed an order online (a single wrap) because I was short on time. Said order would be ready in 10 mins. I arrived 12 mins later to a line of ppl. Walked up to the counter to pick up my online order. The woman at the register tells me my order is not ready, she hasn't "had time" to make my wrap. There are two other employees in the back making only smoothies. I asked if someone else could make my food because I had an appointment to get to. I was told: "No. I'm the only one who can make it." The woman at the register then proceeds to take orders and payments for 4 other ppl in line, before running to the back to start my food. She hurriedly assembles something and then delivers my food--something in a bowl, lid off, rice falling into the bag. I told her that I ordered a wrap and asked if she could just refund me because I don't have time to wait any longer. She says that she cannot refund me because I paid online and goes back into the kitchen to throw together my wrap. So I finally got my online order which should've been ready in 10 mins and waiting for me when I arrived, 25 mins after placing the order. Hardly an apology. Oh, and I was late to my appointment; surprise, surprise. Lesson learned. Staying far away from this place...
