Unfortunately, my experience was similar to that of others regarding the Service and the Manager. I chose to sit at the bar like I always do. This particular time I ordered a Cheeseburger and a Caesar Salad. When the Burger arrived, I was shocked. The amount of Burger Meat that was on the bun was much smaller than normal. It was so small it was hidden by the bun and I literally had to remove the bun to find it. I immediately brought this to the attention of the bartender who was serving me. I explained that I understand you lose weight from cooking but in no way on gods green earth was this a 1/2 lb. of Meat. I was professional, not in the least bit rude but the remarks or lack of remarks by the Bartender and Manager is what really bothered me. Instead of saying anything the Bartenders response was "hmm". Not once but 3 times she replied with "hmm". I found this unacceptable and immediately turned to the Manager who was standing in the very same spot the entire time I was there. *near the kitchen at a tall bar table. She hadn't moved. Yah, she wrapped some silverware in napkins but when she was done she stood there. I knew she had heard the conversation between the Bartender and I asked if that Burger she saw me eat was the normal size. She replied "yes", when in fact I know its not the normal size for I eat there or DID EAT THERE ALL THE TIME. I told her "no its not, and you know it". I said this isn't right and I probably won't come back. Her reply? "you won't be missed." I turned and walked out.
I have never in my life been treated so poorly in a restaurant, ESPECIALLY BY A MANAGER.
I'm a Retired Veteran and I've been on Guam since March. If this is the way they treat people I'll be shocked if the restaurant sticks around. Especially with the new Marine Base and influx of thousands relocating to the island. I read many of the reviews and I can see a pattern of poor customer service. Its from a lack of leadership, its that simple.
I have news for you LongHorn, you aren't the only Steakhouse in Town and I've been to Lone Star at least 1/2 dozen times since. They are friendlier for...
Read moreI've eaten periodically at Longhorn and I've never had a substandard experience. But this is the first time I ordered the US Prime Delmonico Ribeye 20oz steak. For the benefit of those who do not understand the difference between a 'prime' grade and the normal ribeye, it's a USDA grading of which only 5% of the beef supply meets regarding marbling of fat and the lack of sinew, etc. So here is my experience on this steak night, pondering the normal ribeye vs. the Delmonico I opted for the second. If it appears the steak is harshly charred in the attached picture that is by my specific request. I am from Texas and I prefer meat cooked on a BBQ with hot, char on the outside and red rare meat on the inside. I asked the waitress for 'Pittsburg Style Medium Rare' and to my delight, just like all my other visits, the steak was cooked near perfect in the Pittsburg Style Medium Rare. Excellent the steak was, I did notice that more of the outside of the ribeye had been removed of it's fat ring vs. the normal ribeye cut so if you are one that likes less fat ring and more pure red meat this steak is for you. I can find no fault in this Delmonico for this price. I've eaten better Prime Ribeye on the mainland of similar size and it was near $85-100 usd so I appreciate the Longhorn offering. The Delmonico comes with a drizzle of butter over steak BTW.
Let's quickly cover the rest: baked potato is flawless, I know of no baked potato on the island as well executed as Longhorn, service only 4 stars because they don't put enough ice n the 'iced tea', don't provide salt & pepper without asking and they never offered me bread with my salad nor my meal, it just so happens I was not going to eat any bread so no big offense. 4.5 stars...
Read moreSadly, we had a mixed experience of both positives and negatives at this Longhorn. When people choose to dine at Longhorn they expect to pay more because usually the food, the service, and the atmosphere is above average as compared to other restaurants. We had a number of problems and substandard issues on this visit. One problem was that our server only checked on us intermittently and waited way too long before checking on us to see if our orders were right, if we needed our water refilled, or if we were ready for the bill and take out boxes. My order was completely wrong and it was sent back and it was almost 20 minutes before I got my correct order while everybody else ate. My wife ordered the grilled shrimp meal, But the shrimp they brought to our table was barely above room temperature. We had to send it back and wait about 15 minutes for her to receive warm shrimp. The manager never checked on us. The manager never asked us how the food was, the manager never apologized for our order being wrong, never came by to let us know how long it would take for my order to be made properly, did not offer us any type of apology or compensation for throwing off the meal for our group of four. Once the order was properly made and brought to the table, it was delicious. I suspect there were some problems in the kitchen, and maybe staffing in the restaurant as well. They were pretty busy for a lunch time meal hour. I hope they raise the bar on customer interaction and communication with their patrons in the future. They have a tradition and reputation of better service than what we...
