I don’t give bad reviews, because I believe bringing it up to the business first is of utmost importance prior to hashing it on the internet. Clearly, that wasn’t the case. Because I did, and nothing came of it. I ordered the sashimi bento set that came with hamachi, tuna, and salmon. Proceeds to give my food with zero hamachi, let alone all the side carrots, lemon, and cucumber that was in the picture. I ask the server to please put what’s in the picture on my plate. I get that mistakes can be made. And you can see that when they bring it back, the cooks and the server give my partner and I dirty looks. On several occasions. I am local, and coming with my other local friends I’ve had no issues. Is it wrong to ask for what was ordered in the picture? Something tells me it’s not about the food anymore. Never came to check on us for refills, then continues to charge us full price for the meal despite not getting everything in the picture. Only when I requested a discount on my food did they subtract 10% from the order. Not a single apology was given. Im born and raised here, have eaten here on several occasions and never have received this treatment until I sat with my WHITE partner. I REALLY don’t wanna jump to conclusions but seriously? Why is it when I finally bring a white person something switches up? Not military friendly at all. This is coming from a Guam born and raised girl. I know when something is off in the service here and this wasn’t it. We are not coming back, I’m disappointed in the hospitality that my island is supposed to bring to people such as...
Read moreFood is amazing, service is terrible.
There are many options to choose from and everything is delicious and tastes fresh, but the service (if you could even call it that) is bad.
My husband and I dined in the first time on night when it was busy, so we didn't think much of the service then, but this most recent time around we came in at around 4PM and it was pretty empty and quiet.
We were seated right away, but not given a menu yet. We eventually got a menu, but had to wait a while to have a server take our order. When taking our order, the server didn't make much effort to be clear about her disclaimers on the triple tuna bowl and how they no longer served negitori which came with the bowl (I had no idea). I had to keep asking questions to get clarification on what she was trying to say because she spoke like she was in a hurry.
When our dishes came, they were dropped off quickly with 0 eye contact, no words, as quickly as possible. No one ever came around to check on us and yet again just like our past visits, I wasn't hopeful about getting a refill for our tea.
I love their food, but honestly.. Just order take out. You are not missing out on the experience here. The sushi chefs demonstrate more customer service than the servers, actually.
I wanna try to be understanding and assume that everyone is just tired because this economy sucks and people suck, but I'm also just bummed.
Edit: I think they noticed me writing this review and the service instantly got better, so do with that information...
Read moreConveniently located across from a mall. Parking can be tight when busy. Went around 430 pm and it was nearly empty so parking was easy. The food is good and you will get your money's worth. Got a roll (eel and ahi) takoyaki, and was not disappointed. The person I was with got a salmon entree and it came with a sizzling plate. Everything made and cooked very well. So food is easily a 5 star. They have to have over 50 seats including barstool seating in front of the cooks. They are nicely spaced so even if it was crowded there should be more than enough elbow room. It has AC but not too cold. The only area this restaurant lacks in is service. It's slow paced, no one is in a hurry, come on there time attitude. Bottom line I shouldn't have to wave down my server for something. I don't expect you to be running around but there is a flow to waiting a table and they need to work on that. Also maybe it was due to them not being busy. Food was hastly made so no issues there. Sushi was a good temperature, not cold and not warm. Hot food came out hot on a cast iron pan...awesome. There menu is extensive. They have something for everyone from sides that are fried to bentos, sushi, udon, and curry rice. It's almost overwhelming. Overall I would come back...
