Arrived around 10 and had about a 20 minute wait. Obviously very popular place as people kept arriving and the line was down the sidewalk. Service was good good and coffee better than the last 2 places we have had breakfast at. Food did not live up to ratings/reputation. Wife had the scrambled egg tower. She described it as boring. It was just eggs with a bit of spinach and scrunched into a mold with a bit of dry cheese, not even melted, on top. I had the croque madame which turned out to be a ham and cheese sandwich with egg, melted cheese and sauce on top. It had plain old bread a bit dry and not grilled. Both plates had dressed greens, wife's came with Gutiz potatoes and I ordered a side of potatoes. Greens were good and potatoes came burn your mouth hot and crispy. But the star of each plate was mediocre and not even prepared according to the menu. Googled both dishes. Found a scrambled egg tower review and picture on Trip Advisor. Eggs, mushrooms, spinach smothered in melty cheese. Nothing at all like we were served. Had never had a croque madame before so didn't know how it should be. Checked recipes on line and the heart of is a grilled ham and cheese sandwich then topped with cheese, a sauce and finished in the oven. That is definitely not what...

I really don't know where to begin!! It was my first time to dine at this restaurant and I wish it were closer to me so that I can eat here every week!!

My friend and I drove up to Taos to celebrate our birthdays and we were hungry. A few cuisines we're mentioned during our search but this Latin/French cuisine has caught my attention. I took the liberty and made the decision. Oh boy, I was so glad I did.

Walking into the restaurant, it was cozy and somewhat busy for the lunch crowd. We were greeted and seated right away. The inside was spacious; the outside patio seating area looked comfortable. Because it was summer, we decided to sit inside to enjoy the AC. Our server came to take our drink orders. My friend's iced tea was strong and my cactus pear lemonade was tasty. The lemonade was good but I wish it was less sweet and more sour.

We ordered the foods and we did not disappoint. Recommendations were asked and we received answers. My friend ordered the Spanish Tortilla and I ordered the Paella. Both dishes were to die for. The paella was filled with seafood items and the rice was perfectly cooked! It was a good portion to share with 2 people -- which I did share. The Spanish Tortilla dish was very tasty too especially the tapanade....it was so dreamy...

Mexican Hot Chocolate was Excellent A+! Egg Benedict was good (eggs, hollandaise sauce, ham & potatoes were great but the English Muffin was so hard could not cut). French Toast was alright (menu says drizzle of Maple syrup but my guest's was flooded with syrup). Waitress was great but I felt sorry for her because she asked what I think was a busser for 3 hot chocolates (2 mexican 1 regular) and a coffee for my table & another. Lazy person didn't get any of the requested beverages the waitress ended up getting them herself, restaurant was full with people waiting to be setted. The busses spend sweet time pretending to polish eating utensils and doing something on phone. Need to seat customers as soon as tables become available especially when you have a waiting area full of customers. We waited 15 minutes even though I saw 4 tables available 2-5 minutes after arriving. I was on the top of the list with 6 other parties arriving after me, Will definitely return hope service is a little better. One suggestion is offer a senior menu because dishes are to much for a senior, we hate...

Updated: Got the Taos Rice and Beans special. Not a bad vegetarian brunch choice. The French Toast is not American "French Toast", but rather Toasted French Bread with a wonderful orange marmalade. Great place for breakfast or lunch. The house salad has a French sensibility. The Mushroom soup was fantastic, but only needed a garnish of fresh cream or parsley for more eye appeal (it tasted way better than it looked). The fried calamari had a light fluffy batter and was pretty good. They've expanded since I was there last, used to be very cozy. Now has a more woody bistro feel. Lunch can be expensive in Taos, they don't give you a price break. But this place has reasonable prices, which I appreciate for lunch.

Delicious food! We stopped in to try something new and left full and happy. I had the scrambled egg tower. It's a tower of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, and spinach topped with tomato and Manchego cheese with bacon, served with a side of Gutiz potatoes and a side salad. Everything was amazing but the Manchego cheese really brought the dish together nicely. The Gutiz potatoes are seasoned wo good, I could have ate a plate of those alone and would have been happy! I don't remember what the drink was, a mint tea or lemonade or something but it was so so god! Highly recommend.
