-WORST, MOST INSANE AND HOSTILE RESTAURANT EXPERIENCE EVER- This felt more like an assault than a restaurant visit. I can’t say meal because we never got our pizza. We were ignored for 30 minutes after being told (rudely) to sit down and someone would be over. We had to flag down the sever who was watching us sit there. She then snapped at the other employee who was clearly PISSED that he had to wait on us. He growled, “I KNOW, IM GOING!” We sat for another 5 or so and he came to take our order. Something was clearly wrong. We had to give him our pizza order 6 times. And he was just so angry. We ordered drinks and a salad as well. The salad came out after 20 minutes, still no drinks. No silverware (we had asked multiple times) and no drinks. Instead of the basil vinaigrette dressing, they gave us straight pesto sauce. We asked for the dressing and they argued that “it’s the same ingredients” and finally said, “best I can do is bring you more pesto.” I had to go to the counter again to get knives since the dude just threw some forks at us and disappeared. There was a clear air of hostility and I asked if it was a bad time; if they were getting ready to close. I was going to just ask for the pizza to go. The waiter SCREAMED, “IT’S SHIFT CHANGE!!” My wife was at the table and heard it. We are on our honeymoon and really didn’t expect verbal assault at all pizza place. After another 40 minutes, I went to just cancel the pizza. He wouldn’t let me and said it was almost ready. I just asked if I could pay and get it to go as we were super uncomfortable. I paid, he literally grabbed the card from my hand. After another 5 minutes or so of us awkwardly standing there, he threw our pizza at us. It was wrong. He was clearly angry. We were definitely done at that point and didn’t want to be in there another minute. He didn’t want to refund us. Wanted us to wait for another pizza. We declined. He took the ticket to the cook and hissed, “that’s strike 2.” The whole time, the manager/owner had been berating the servers. She had also witnessed all the insanity. We have come here multiple times over the years and while the wait For food was always incredibly long, nothing like this had ever happened. Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, this is pretty common now. It’s clear this is an environment where employees are berated and dehumanized to the point they just can’t function. I’ve worked in restaurants for my entire adult life and this was the worst dynamic I’ve...
Read moreI really wish zero stars was an option. Myself and 11 coworkers came to taos pizza outback hoping to have a pleasant experience. It was far from pleasant. First of all, we wanted to pay separately, 12 separate checks. our waitress was an older blonde woman. She immediately had an attitude about us wanting to each pay for our individual food. We understand it may take a little longer for you to take our order but that was not an issue for us whatsoever. After we all placed our order, I wanted to switch one of my pizza toppings from green Chilli to jalapeños. The blonde older waitress looked at me and straight up said "No, I cannot do that, you already placed your order." have in mind this was before she even took the orders to the cook! I couldn't believe I wasn't able to change my order that I'm paying for! Another issue is we were the first large group that arrived. Two more groups had arrived after us and both those groups received their food before us! we ended up waiting an hour and a half before we got our food. One of my coworkers didn't receive his food until we all finished eating. Also our blonde waitress had an attitude the entire time, she made a smart comment about how 4 of my coworkers moved to a table right next to us in order to be more comfortable due to being a little cramped in the booth. She also never offered to give refills. She also never apologized for the long wait. Instead she was seemed to be blaming us for all the issues. I've never tipped anyone zero dollars but this was zero dollar service. The blond old waitress also had the audacity to look at my tip immediately after I paid to shout "SERIOUSLY." 3 times. I was with my coworkers and that is why I just walked away. But I promise I would have definitely explained why you deserved no tip at all. Seriously, I can't make a small change to my order that I'm paying for?? Seriously, we arrive first but are served last?? Seriously, it took an hour and half for us to get our food? 2 hours for my coworker to get his food. Seriously, our blonde old waitress has an attitude the entire time, and blames us for all the issues? Seriously? Seriously? Seriously? So for anyone passing through taos I do not recommend this location at all. The pizza is definitely not good enough for their workers to be able to treat customers the way that they do. Scroll through the reviews and you will see very similar reviews explaining the horrible non...
Read moreStopped in for lunch today. 4 slices, 3 salads, 4 drinks, 2 desserts. Our server was wonderful, she really made us feel welcome and taken care of. Food was mostly good, as it has been for the past 30 years that we've been eating here. However, one of our slices was raw and gummy. No big deal. It happens. It had a lot of wet toppings and we assumed it just changed the texture of the crust or something. It was the Shredder, which we get often and it's usually delicious, but this slice was much different than usual. The dough seemed kind of raw or something. Since it wasn't really edible we decided to mention it to the server, who was wonderful and immediately apologized and said she would see what she could do. When we got the check we saw that nothing had been discounted, and asked her about it. She said that the manager wasn't able to do anything for us. Since the slice wasn't edible, it kind of felt strange, so we asked to speak to the manager thinking that maybe she had misunderstood the situation. The server came back a few minutes later and said that the manager had done a 5 percent discount. The bill was just over $100, so we figured we would just let it go at this point. Until we realized that she had discounted....5 percent of the SLICE! .55 cents....At this point it felt very strange and we asked again to speak to the manager, thinking she must've made a mistake. She finally came to our table with the meanest attitude and said that she did indeed mean to discount 5 percent of the inedible slice and said that was all she was authorized to offer from the owner. When we asked if their policy was to not offer to remake the food or refund the food when it is inedible she visibly sneered. It was surreal. We gave the server a 20 percent tip and moved on with our lives, but are writing this in hopes that the owner will read and help her work on customer service, and customer relations. One of us is a local business owner, who sends out of towners to this restaurant, and the other is a local business manager who does the same. We are sisters and have been coming to Pizza Outback since we were young, and now bring the next generation of the family, as well as friends and colleagues in whenever we can. We have never been so insulted and had someone be so unbelievably....condescending? Inappropriate? Mean? in all of our years dining out. So...
