Abrams Bar-B-Q of Tarboro — Restaurant in Tarboro

PLEASE READ : I arrived around 6:00, this restaurant closes at 7. I got in the drive through and it took about 30 minutes just for me to get to the window. When I ordered my BBQ sandwich I felt rushed and I was not informed that it came with slaw on it. Once I got to the window it took another 10 minutes for them to take my card and give my food. I politely asked if I got back in the drive through could I get my sandwich without slaw on it. The cashier said “yeah but it’s gone be a few”. I proceeded to get back in the drive through and once I finally got to order, the cashier said “Abrams I’m out of food” I politely asked “hi I’m here to get my BBQ sandwich without slaw” and she said I’m sorry I’m out of food. It’s now 6:46 and I’m just leaving. Why were you not out of food when I was at the window the first time , but when I return to get my food corrected, you’re out of food?? Doesn’t make any sense. All in all this restaurant needs A LOT more work on their customer service, as without customers the restaurant would not be standing. I am highly disappointed in everything especially the customer service. Was NOT worth the 20 minute drive from Rocky Mount. Will not...

We visited Abrams BBQ Restaurant on yesterday, October 24, 2023. We were expecting to set down in the dining room, but we were told that the dining room closed at 2. Found the advertisement on Google which said the hours were 6 AM to 7 PM...well the surprise was on us. So, we went through the drive-thru. Since we had not been there before we were confused what to order, then we settled on the chicken with gravy with mashed potatoes and cabbage. Let me speak for both of us...The food was the best food I have had anywhere! It was packaged neatly which is important to us and once we opened the lid it was presented so beautifully. We shared this meal...which was OUTSTANDING!!! Everything was hot, the chicken and gravy was like our mother's stewed chicken, the mashed potatoes were fluffy and "real potatoes", the cabbage was AWESOME. We both agreed that the seasonings were applied perfectly...we don't do salt, and we were definitely not disappointed in any way with the entire meal. I went to drive through at 650 the first night ive ever been to Abrams and waited 10 minutes til 7 and after no response until i said hello into the mic i was told there was no food left because they close at 7. I replied the website says 8 and they said the door said 7. Id never been to the door so had no way of knowing that. I decided it was worth going one more time and went a few minutes ago. Had to repeat order 3 times. I ordered white combo with rice and gravy green lima beans a half pint of pot salad and a large sweet tea with extra ice. It came to 13.77 and i got unsweet tea, no gravy on my rice, and brown butter beans instead of geeen ones. Needless to say since i just moved here and see plenty of other restaurants, i will not give it a 3rd try. Called to ralk to manager when i got home and was told she left for the day and call back...
