Classic Diner — Restaurant in Tarboro

Restaurant has poor service, waited like 10 minutes for our drinks. Wait staff doesn't seem to know what they are doing. No order. Chaos.. seems they need to set up who is waiting on which table. Ordered items from menu but was charged almost twice what was listed on menu. Called back to speak to owner/manager. Was told that I was charged extra for pickles,lettuce and tomato. The deluxe cheeseburger should come with these. Listed as 2.99 on menu. I however was charged 5.50 for the burger. My friend with me had 2 complete combos and only was charged 2 dollars more than me. Don't eat here. You can't judge what you are spending based on the menu and unless you have unlimited time it's a waste of time and money! BTW I was not allowed to talk...

Absolutely love this place!! The food is good, but it's the people that really make this place what it is. The staff are all super friendly. Bud, the owner is the BEST! He's always there to mingle with the lunch crowd and makes you feel important. They promote good Christian values and are a big part off the success and revitalization of downtown Tarboro. Classic Diner is a favorite! The diner offers the feel of a “Classic diner.” The restaurant is clean and accessible with nearby parking. The staff are very friendly and helpful with choosing from the everyday menu or from one of their daily specials.
