Man, this food rocks. The Hot Chick has been my go to for quite a while, but I’ve sampled the entire menu (except for the dessert style poutine) over the last few months. They’ve all been stellar - but the Hot Chick is where it’s at. Someone I’ve loved about this food is the exact same standard for quality with each service. Quality control is at a max. Every order I get is exactly the same - same portions, same temp, same heat, same everything. I really love that, and you can’t always say the same thing for all restaurants you go to.
Let’s talk about their 3 new items/specials - to commemorate their 1 year anniversary!
HAPPYH ANNIVERSARY!
This weekend, Marrying Derek and I went and go their 3 new items; Chicken and Waffles Pilgrim Poutine Gold Fever Chicken Poutine
Let’s start from the top;
The Chicken and Waffles is a REALLY odd item. Truth me told, I’m not a chicken and waffles fan - but what’s not to love? I love waffles, chicken, syrup… but for whatever reason, I’ve never liked it at restaurants. I think ALL of the issues I have at restaurants are remedied here. This was actually my favorite item of the 3 yesterday. The waffles are INCREDIBLY crisp, which like my other review, I’m a crisp guy. Chicken was perfect as always…but where they really get you, it the sweetness. It’s not a dessert, it doesn’t TASTE like a dessert, but it’s just sweet enough that it’s absolutely delicious. Mix that with the typical ingredients, and they’ve got a home run. Totally changed my mind on C + W!
Pilgrim Poutine - I was most excited for this. As a lot of you know, my family are cranberry growers, and I’m ADDICTED to cranberry sauce. Thanksgiving foods are by far my favorite holiday foods, and I’ve always been a sucker for the D’Angelos Gobbler, and Angela Arrowsmith and I go through phases where we’ll make our own a few times in a month or so. This was delicious. Worked perfectly, and massive portions. Lots of gravy, cranberry, and stuffing. The turkey was excellent, but truth be told, I could have used more! It left me WANTING more! These poor people have been shredding and cooking for 4 days straight, up until 2am, 3am - and. Yet I still want more from them HAHA! Ya ya, I’ve got a problem 🙂 The Gold Fever and BBQ Chicken are going to be new permanent members on the menu. I could drink Gold Fever sauce, though I try not to do that in public. What can I say, other than it was exactly as I imagined. It’s my Hot Chick, but with Gold Fever instead - that’s a WIN! I’ll probably mix it up every once in a while between the 3. Slam dunk as always.
Special shoutout to Paul and everyone else who was painstakingly cooking over the last week. In 3 days (give or take some hours), I think I heard they were up over 800 Sales! That is a LOT of work for an operation with 2-3 people helping out at once. I know they were a bit understaffed, and Paul had to fill in, work on his days off, and rise to the occasion. We all appreciate it man - you helped keep us fat and happy!
Thanks again, can’t wait to come back, and can’t wait to try your next specials!

I ordered the Porky Pig
A Canadian/BBQ fusion. Hand cut fries brown gravy. Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds, KINFOLKS AWARD WINNING BBQ Pulled Pork. Zesty barbecue sauce, sweet and tangy slaw scallions.
My wife ordered The "OG"
Authentic Canadian Poutine featuring our hand cut fries with house made brown gravy, squeaky Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds & scallions.
My daughter ordered the Hot Chick
Hand cut fries topped with Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds, brown gravy. crispy chicken tossed in spicy buffalo sauce with a cool ranch drizzle & scallions
We all shared. The OG was what you would expect Crispy French fries, savory gravy with squeaky chewy cheese overall really good. The hot chick was a Buffalo chicken, French fry masterpiece. Crispy golden Brown chicken breast in a nice Buffalo sauce on top of cheesy fries it was amazing. But the pièce de résistance was the Porky Pig. I mean come on... I actually thought it was amazing, everyone who tried it loved it. My wife was a bit concerned about trying it with the coleslaw, gravy and barbecue sauce, it didn't sound like it would be a very good combination. Boy was she wrong. She enjoyed it, actually loved it, I loved it my daughter loved it. It was such a big hit we got a second order.
I thought the prices were reasonable I expected it to be more expensive coming for a food truck. The OG was $10. The Porky Pig and the Hot Chick were each $13. We left full and have some of the extra order in the refrigerator.
Overall I would highly recommend this place if you like poutine or even if you don't, give this place a shot and I...
Read moreOkay where do I even start? I used to live in canada and my meal almost everyday consisted of poutine after school. When I moved to new york I missed having my favorite comfort meal.
I have traveled most of the east coast searching for good poutine with no luck. By the grace of god and yelp I found Poutine Peddlers. At first bite I actually fell in love, it felt like home. The fries are so perfect and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The cheese curds melt beautifully. The gravy is like a warm hug. Do I sound obsessed? Good because I am.
My boyfriend and I have traveled from new york four times in total for Poutine Peddlers , at this point it’s the main reason we visit boston. On top of amazing food they have amazing service as well! Everyone is so friendly and kind and the owner was lovely. If you ever find yourself in Boston this is such a must try, and if you love poutine like me it’s a NEED.
Start yourself with a classic and then try their equally as delicious specials, it’s honestly heaven.
Thank you for reading my love letter to Poutine...
