China Pavilion — Restaurant in Taylorville

If you are looking for good, affordable Chinese food that isn't your basic run-of-the-mill "China Express" look no further! We pulled up and the outside looked a little sparse, almost would have thought it was closed had it not been for the open sign. We walked in and its a simple, clean dining area with a nicer area with white leather seating on the other half (I assume for renting out). I would suggest to them to get some ambience music, I hate only hearing silverware hit plates while I'm eating. Menu was small but adequate, a little confusing though -- had a difficult time figuring out what was still available for lunch and what came with what sides. I got the Bang Bang dish which was a yummy curry plate while my boyfriend had beef fried rice that he said was loaded with meat! The wonton soup was delicious as well! This is my favorite restaurant! The servers are excellent! You will always get what you need and they will always refill your drinks without you even thinking about it. The service is very quick! Soups/appetizers arrive within 5-10 minutes and your entreé arrives another 5 minutes later! Don’t even get me started about the food! The food is excellent quality! No Chinese restaurant has ever been able to compete with this one. I always order the Empress Chicken. The chicken, rice, veggies and plum sauce are fresh, hot, and delicious! China Pavillion is hands down the best Chinese we have been to. We frequented the establishment often when we lived in the area. Since moving away four years ago we have tried other places and none compare. We have the chance we go back to China Pavillion we stop in. The service is fantastic. The food is made to order, fresh, perfectly cooked, comes from the kitchen straight to your table.They never disappoint.

UPDATE 12/23/23 Finally able to get my China Pavilion fix. My husband, myself, my three grown children and my granddaughter all enjoyed lunch there today. It is under new ownership and is still just as good as it has...
