Behind Locked Doors, LLC — Attraction in Taylorville

We have been wanting to take our children to an escape room, but most have an age limit. Sunday afternoon we were trying to find something to do on Monday since we all had the day off. One of them suggested an escape room, so we went searching. Behind Locked Doors came up on our google search and we were excited to see how inclusive they are. We made a reservation online (very easy to do) for the "Treasure Room". Monday morning, we made the short trek to Taylorville. We had an amazing time. We did need a lot of "clues" and we did not escape in the one hour time frame. However, we were two adults, two junior highers and a 3rd grader. I think if we had gone with all adults or older teens, we would have done much better. We have already decided we will be back with our adult children to try...

This was our first time to experience the escape room challenge. We did it with our son, daughter in law and granddaughters. It was a very challenging experience we had a lot of fun and talked about it quite a bit afterwards. We look forward to doing it again sometime. The young ladies that run it were very friendly and helpful and made the whole experience that much more fun. Try it and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. But make sure to open your mind to thinking about things in different ways and work together as everyone thinks different and it brings success...

Great experience here! Staff are super nice and the room was well put together. One or two of the clues took some creative liberties with the answer that were a bit of a stretch and I wasn't overly fond of having to pay for a third person's "phantom ticket" in order to do the room with just my fiancé (no other Escape Room establishments we've been to have done that) but I understand they want to make the appointment worth it for them to be there.
