Palomino Club — Restaurant in Taylorville

My 92 year old dad has spoke often about this place as having great catfish on Friday nights. We were in Taylorville visiting him this past weekend and decided to give the Palomino Club a try. My dad and I had the catfish; my wife and son ordered the fried chicken. Wow!!! Everything was outstanding. Generous portions, excellent flavor, and the staff were extremely friendly. So, having heard they also have good pizza, we ordered a pizza the following night for take out. We live in the Chicago area and thus, are accustomed to great pizza. I can honestly say that the Palomino Club's pizza was every bit as good as any Chicago thin crust pizza I've had. All made fresh. Definitely a winner. The night we came in, there was only 2 people working the whole entire place. I understand that takes a long time to get things done. Waiting an hour was not the worst thing. Food was great period was in with so many people got the bill did not realize till I got home. There were things we didn't even order added on the bill. Not cool. No, did not call back. Drove 47 miles one way to check out the hand breaded pork tenderloins. This is a local bar which serves fresh made foods from what I've been told. Ordered the Pork Tenderloin (lunch price$5.00) and a side of hand battered mushrooms $3.50. Thought the prices were very reasonable for what you get for your money.
