Angora, Angora, Angora! Five stars across the board.
Anxious to eat there after seeing a review of the restaraunt on social media, I drove over for an early dinner.
I noticed as I entered the restaraunt, how pretty and elegant, in was in there. Not over the top but the atmosphere and ambiance is perfect for a date, family and friends or even alone meal time (which was what I was having). It was also very clean and felt good, in there. I think they made the most of the space from the wood accents, the beautiful blue chairs and cloth napkins w/gold holders that really popped against the white table dressing. Very nice.
I was greeted and seated, kindly. The server was well dressed, professional, friendly and attentive. He brought menus and offered water. The menu had many delicious options. I ordered the baba ganoush, sauced eggplant, tabbouleh salad and a cold beverage. A basket of warm bread accompanied it all.
When my food arrived I had to take a few minutes to admire how fresh it was and fragrant it smelled. It was beautiful, I was hungry. I ate and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I even had some left to take home. For dessert, I ordered their rice pudding which I also took to go. I just finished that and it was delicious, too.
I was so impressed, really. I loved that the food was so fresh and flavorful. So many restaurants, in my opinion, ruin food and meals with too much salt. Angora’s food was just right. I left the waiter a really nice tip and left there looking forward to coming back and spreading the word.
Thank you, Angora - I truly enjoyed my first time there. It...
Read moreI came here because of an Instagram video by Kevork Altounjian showing many dishes that looked delicious and filled with lots of food. I ordered the mixed grill ($49.99), but it looked empty, and honestly looked enough for 1 person instead of 2. This was disappointing because the video made me expect the same quantity, but instead this result makes me feel that it was false advertisement. The only positive aspect was the was the presentation of the bread in this dish. It molded the plate like a pie. I also got the cigars boren ($9.99) which I thought was expensive because it came with 3 or 4 the width of my finger. Finally, I ordered salgam, a fermented carrot and turnip drink. The menu description detailed the ingredients, making me think it was a natural juice made in house since sodas or bottled drinks don’t list that. However, I was given a bottled drink, and what made things worse was the smell and flavor of sewage water, rotten eggs, and extreme saltiness. Of course, this is personal preference, but I suggest anyone who is unfamiliar with this drink to avoid it. I wish the waitress would’ve warned me beforehand because it was my first time there and it’s clear I’m not knowledgeable of...
Read moreWent to eat here on a Saturday night, ambience was great and it was a full house. The food was great and we enjoyed all of our dishes. However, I must comment on the management of the restaurant. For a busy Saturday night, you'd expect there to be a full staff working, but there were only two girls on the floor taking orders, serving tables, bussing tables, and running checks. It was outrageous the manager or owner of the restaurant just sat behind his desk for most of the night and was eating dinner while these two waitresses were running around like crazy and sweating (literally) to make sure all the patrons had a good experience. That put a damper on the meal to see these two waitresses being overworked; which resulted in poor service (no fault of the waitresses). HIRE THE APPROPRIATE STAFF and the dinner service would run...
