A-Kaye-rman Manor — Hotel in Teaneck Township

The A-Kaye-rman Manor is THE getaway from the sleepy suburbs in the heart of the 'burbs.

The grounds are impeccable, and the Manor is well maintained with a tasteful homey/rustic cabin decor. Always clean and always fresh with prevalent smell like mom just baked a tasty vegan treat.

With a plethora of rooms to enjoy your stay, you'll have a hard time choosing between the quant maids quarter, the esteemed grandparents room (without the mothballs!) or the pink room. All rooms are equipped with thermostats but sadly, no en suite.

From early fall to late spring stay warm with a good book and curl up in front of one of the several fireplaces.

From late spring to early fall, the pool is open with water so clear you'd swear you were swimming in the tropics.

Every summer Sunday afternoon, Grill Masta Mike (GMM) throws down a legendary que that can teach Texas a thing or two. Flesh eaters, pescatarian, vegetarian, vegan -don't matter, GMM will slather, cut, spice and make delicious love to a piece of protein for your slobbering mouth.

The hostess has been known to whip up vegan friendly meals at a moments notice! Some of her Michelin star dishes include the baked empanadas, banana popsicles (only available in certain seasons so try to plan your stay around these if possible- you MUST try these!), cheese roll-ups (kid friendly!), and the ever delectable zoodles. Be sure to ask for the soup of the day; my personal favorite is the “chicken” snoup.

Remember the kids? Well its ok, because they have been quietly entertained in the gameroom or the playground at back. The kitchen is also fully stocked with kid friendly foods like pasta and bean cheese burritos. Good luck finding candy, there's a deliberate scarcity of that kid krack in this establishment.

We are long time customers of this establishment and have been staying here for as long as we knew about this town.

We stay in the Groundskeeper Unit, nicknamed The Norbert. This recently renovated room is the cats pajamas. Plenty of parking and storage for all our winter and summer gear. They did a good job of updating this space to contemporary standards with a playful wink and nod to styles more common of the disco era. Got a can of worms, i can open it.

This is the one room in the Manor that has an en suite. An en suite big enough that is eligible to pay its own taxes. Just kidding the generous owners take care of that.

They seem to always be on the ins of the haps in this sleepy town. Giving google a run for their money when looking for fun activities.

There is also free cable, HBO, Netflix, Disney+ subscriptions and high speed internet at no extra charge.

Words cannot do justice to my exquisite stay at the A-Kaye-rman Manor. The Manor is a mere 30 minutes from the bright lights of Manhattan, making it a perfect distance for a weekend getaway.

The extensive facilities include a gym, swimming pool and fully stocked kitchen with organic produce used for every meal. You’ll leave loving noonoos.

The true highlight of your stay, however, will be the bearded chap who lives in the attic. He comes down only occasionally to gain access to the pantry so if you do see him make sure to snap a photo. Some say he’s an old wives tale but I swear I saw him scurrying off with some pumpkin empanadas.
