The worst customer service i have experienced in a long time. My daughter in law was having a party and we wanted to get bagels and platters from a kosher store. One of her friends told us Sammys is kosher. We could not have had a more unpleasant experience. We called a few times and it went to voice mail. Finally on our 4th day of trying someone answered the phone. We asked if we could order a few platters and 3 or 4 dozen bagels. We were told that they don’t take orders over the phone and we were directed to the website and rushed off the phone. We then went to the website to order. The website itself is not organized well and lead to some further questions. For example, the cream cheese platter doesn’t have any descriptions as to what is included. It vaguely describes cream cheeses on a platter without specific types included. I have a child who is anaphylactic to nuts and we wanted to be sure that none included nuts. We then called again and after struggling to get through were redirected to the website. At this time, because we need kosher food, we went to the website and ordered bagels and individual cream cheeses by the pound. My wife bought disposable serving dishes to put the cream cheeses in as to have them presented appropriately and not in plastic tubs. Today , the food was delivered and an a large portion of the cream cheese was omitted, yet it was clearly on the bill. I called the store again and the woman offered to refund me the money and i asked if they could deliver what was missing as it was their error and she refused and got nasty. I asked for the manager and she said he would be in in 20 minutes. It is now 7 hours later and i have received no call back. Do not order from this place if you have a significant sized order or want to be treated like you...
Read moreI called to order a pizza to go and was put on hold. Someone then picked up and asked what I would like and when i told them I wanted to place an order for pick-up, she asked me to hold. I was on hold for over 10 minutes. While I was on hold, I also asked my son to call to see who would get service first bc I thought I was forgotten about. They answered his call first and he tried to place an order. The woman told him he was breaking up and when he tried to repeat it, she just hung up on him. I called back again and had the same experience as my first phone call, waiting on the line after being on the line for another 10 minutes. I only persisted to see how bad it might get and also because they offer mozzarella sticks and EJ's doesn't. I called one last time and got a woman on the phone and the first thing I said was to please not put me on hold again bc I had already been put on hold three times for over 10 minutes and instead of apologizing for my experience, she only said to me, "well I'm gonna have to put you on hold because I need a pen and paper to take your order". Why is that not already by the phone for phone orders? I'm not even going to get into the next part as to why I had to pay by card over the phone ahead of time for a pick up order of a pie and mozzarella sticks, possibly didn't like my complaint. The calls were made at noon on a Sunday. I find this to be...
Read moreSammy's makes the best bagels in the area (though they have strong competition nearby). While they excel in bagel making they fail miserabky in customer service. After waiting on a line for almost 10 minutes with o ly 2 people in front of me, I ordered a bagel with egg as I have many times before) I was told to place the order with the cashier who would send it to the pizza kitchen. After waiting almost 30 minutes, after many inquiries for an update, I was told they made it, but the cashier apparently wrote the wrong flavor bagel. In any case, it was sitting behind the counter and was now cold. I asked them to make what I ordered. They refused and said I should take what they made. I asked for my money back. They refused and started yelling at me. Even race was brought into the argument. While they eventually did refund the purchase, this attitude is consistent with prior bad experiences where customers are kept waiting for simple orders and if they complain, it is always the customer's fault. Had it not been the case preCovid, I might be more forgiving given the industry staff shortage, but this has always been true. Managers routinely ignore or berate customers. The food is good, and that is what keeps them in business, but they tie with the dairy place down the block for the worst in understanding the basics of...
