The ordering process took us 15 minutes alone. So disorganized and the manager was no help to any of the new staff. The staff was so rude to us but the people around us, the girl taking the orders telling the lady behind me "you can move on now" when there was no where to go in this giant backed up line? We waited about 10 minutes at the register to even check out while our pizzas were already in the oven. Several associates and even the manager passing by us at the register with no acknowledgment. Manager or owner was so rude and unprofessional talking about how 'all of you decided to want to come in at once' like having customers upset him?? and was just so rude in the manner he spoke to the customers, ourselves included. We waited 10 minutes for 2 pizzas, never got called but saw 3 parties that ordered after us get their pizzas.. so we finally got frustrated and approached the pizza cook since he wasn't calling anyone's names aloud and we have been waiting for ours. Turns out 1 of our pizzas was ready several minutes ago and was just sitting behind the counter and our other pizza went missing?? The pizza cook didn't offer any help and ignored us upon realizing he lost our pizza! We had to approach the manager to make a complaint and he was so rude to not just me but the lady at the register waiting for her receipt. This experience was so chaotic and unorganized we just asked for a refund and he said he couldn't do that and would take my name and phone number and promises to do it later??? What a weird way to solve an issue with a customer that YOU GUYS lost their pizza! Am I just supposed to walk away and trust this guy is going to do what's right even though he was so rude and unprofessional?! A few hours later we received a phone call from his number saying he was only going to refund 1 pizza even though the other pizza we got was sitting and cold and no longer fresh you're still going to charge us for 1 with such a poor service quality!? I can't believe anyone let this guy be in change of anything. He wouldn't give us his name but he was a bald white man with only facial hair. Still haven't received a refund. Atrocious, truly. That new staff deserves...
Read moreAfter a weekday of running errands, I was looking for some quick, good takeout pizza. Of course, I checked Yelp for nearby places and found Blaze with a respectable overall 4-star rating, and put in an order to be picked up.
The store itself looked clean and my pizza was ready fast. Got it home and on opening the box thought, "this doesn't look like any pizza I've ever gotten...what the heck is up with the crust??" It reminded me of those prebaked Boboli crusts you get at the grocery store - only much worse. It was totally burnt on the bottom and note, I did not check the option that said "well done". Crust is such an important part of a good pizza - in my opinion, it should be puffy and airy from good gluten development. I can't believe they don't prepare you for the fact that this you're getting a dense, non-traditional pizza crust.
The toppings looked good, but we couldn't get past the burnt, dense, flavorless crust. This was truly the worst pizza I've ever had. Prior to this, I had NEVER thrown away a pizza, but in the trash this one went. It was that bad. I understand some people obviously must like this version of pizza, but had I known what to expect, I'd never have ordered from Blaze. Sad, but...
Read moreIt's basically a build your own pizza with the toppings, sauces, doughs, and spices right in front of you so you can see what you are putting on. There are a few places that use this theme for pizza making, so the main difference is the various types of toppings. Every place has different options. Blaze leans more towards non traditional or 'gourmet' toppings. Blaze stores seem to be popping up all over, I've been seeing them for years now so obviously they are popular and survived the test of time.
So that they can cook the pizza quickly, to order, in their fire roasted pizza oven, the dough is pressed fairly thin so if you are looking for thick crust, this is not the place. Blaze pizzas are, like I mentioned, that thin gourmet type of pizzas. Almost like a bruschetta. Healthy and more room for flavor. Obviously depends on what you are looking for but for those who have never been to a Blaze location and are looking for a review to explain, this is for you because most of the people who have already eaten at a Blaze know what they are getting and don't need...
