The Vail Headquarters already offer an awesome hip/western atmosphere within the heart of Temecula. Located within, is “ The Local Provisions.” We are a family of 5 with kids ranging from 13-18 yrs old. We were pleasantly surprised to find a food offering to make everyone’s stomachs happy! I want to start out by also saying that this place has a hip feel without being uninviting. This place isn’t stuffy. Just great food, great vibes (and great beer).Families and even dogs are welcome!! The great thing is you could sit outside in the patio and take your time eating while your kids play in the grass in the courtyard!
My wife had the grilled cheese lobster sandwich and I had the Korean BBQ tacos which were both amazing. It’s going to be a tough choice between the two on our next trip. The meat in my tacos was moist and flavorful and the lobster grilled cheese had an almost soul-food feel. Our kids each picked a different flatbread/pizza and the garlic fry basket was huge! Even then, the five of us happily finished them!
What was a surprise was the awesome beer selection. At the back there are numerous coolers stocked with bottles and cans of both local and not-so-local / hard to find craft beers. There were also some beers on tap, some seasonal which was cool to see. I could see this being a place where the experience will be the surprise of “I wonder which cool beer they’ll have this time!” All the while eating tasty food. If you’re a bit of a beer connoisseur, you’ll really enjoy this place as well! While seated, numerous people came in as strangers and ended up conversing around the beer coolers, sharing their personal beer preferences and experiences. Cool atmosphere. (If your a sports fan, they had an NFL Sunday game playing on one of the screens).
The owner, Gabe, was very attentive not just to our table, but to everyone who entered. He offered beer suggestions and gave a glimpse of other beers he hopes to add to the selection. Exciting! We can’t recommend this place enough! ...

We really wanted to like Local Provisions, but our experience was pretty disappointing overall.
First off, seating is very limited, and once we finally found a table, we learned there’s no table service. You have to go up to the counter to order. Right after placing your order, you’re prompted for a tip even though no actual service has been provided yet. If you want water, it’s self-serve from a metal container in the corner. We even had to ask someone to clear a dirty table just so we could sit down. It’s first come, first serve, and honestly a bit of a fiasco.
To make things worse, there was a pile of trash by the front door that looked and smelled bad, with flies and mosquitoes everywhere. Not a great first impression.
As for the food: • Mahi tacos: excellent flavor, fresh, and easily a 9/10. • Cheeseburger: just okay, maybe a 4/10. The bun and patty were solid, but the limp lettuce and lack of flavor were disappointing. • Carne asada fries: skip them. They were drenched in nacho cheese with barely any carne asada flavor. We took a couple of bites and tossed them.
The timing was also off. The tacos came out after 20 minutes, and another 20 minutes later the burger and fries arrived.
The one bright spot was the sweet girl who cleared our table and brought our food. She was kind and helpful, and that’s the main reason this isn’t a 2-star review.
This valley has so many great dining options, and unfortunately Local Provisions just doesn’t measure up right now. I hope the owners take this feedback seriously, but for now, we won’t...
Read moreI am truly baffled by all of the positive reviews for this place. We came in based on the positive reviews and ended up extremely disappointed. First, the service.....the staff seemed far more interested in socializing with each other than in taking our food orders. I stood near the order point for several minutes while they finished their conversation and a long line formed behind me. There was not even an acknowledgement of me or any other customer while they finished gossiping about their various friends. There were three of us in our party. We all ordered burgers and one came out after a 30 minute wait. The next two were staggered over the next 30 minutes. There was no apology whatsoever or any explanation for the delay. I wish I could say that, although the service was poor, the food made up for it. However, that was far from the case. We were all left wishing that we had gone to Habit Burger or Five Guys instead. The quality at these fast-food establishments is far superior. Our burgers were flavorless and cold. We seriously have had better fries at McDonalds. As a matter of fact, the fries tasted similar to McDonalds fries with some added garlic flavoring sprinkled on them. For $80 for just food, we expected much better, and this is the first and last time we will...
