DTC Tempe fits the description of "a hidden gem" better than most. Situated on the northeast edge of the Tempe Biz park/ASU Research Park area - just north of Elliot off the 101 - you can't just "happen" by this place - you have to work in the Biz Park, be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn next door, or purposefully go there. BIG, nice pet-friendly patio with cornhole + other games... but the patio could use a teeny-tiny bit of welcoming TLC. Our dogs loved it and the staff welcomed them with open arms! Food was very good, the line-chef nailed it on everything. Pictured is the Classic burger and the Diablo shrimp (quite 🔥). Drinks were tasty and just strong enough. "Vampire Diaries" is must try! Abby (our server) was amiable, energetic and an absolute pleasure. As rookies in this sports bar, we were quite open to suggestions and Abby obliged. One pro tip she had was adding a small side of caramel to the Cheese Curds. What...? People, just trust Abby and D T C. (Dip The Curds) in Caramel.

DO NOT skip this place just because it's in a hidden location. I set up a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband and planning with the manager, Jordan, was a breeze. He was so accommodating and had everything we needed to make the night perfect. We were able to decorate the reserved space and Jordan made sure he had enough staff for our party of 80. Do you want incredible service? See Abby or Casey. These two sweethearts put other servers to shame with their efficiency and ability to handle a crowd. As for the food, kids meals are $9 and include a drink and fries. Everything is hot and the sauces they offer are good too. For the adults, order the carne asada fries. As soon as someone samples the fries, they order their own! Bring the whole fam and sit outside on the huge patio or at the bar inside where you won't miss a second of any game on the tvs.

Great vibes: super friendly service, upper-quality of food, and the interior is super comfortable! Anyone staying at the Hilton hotel next door, it feels like a secret restaurant. I had their pizza, it was above-solid; it's not too much, not short on anything, just right! Britney, is so approachable, where she could make you feel like friends from childhood, when you only have met her for 5 minutes! She has the charisma and can be very relatable! The owner, as the Chef, not only made me a fantastic pizza, but also spend the effort to introduce recommendations around town, as I am new here! I totally would love to get to know the Chef more!! I would definitley take my family here whenever we are all in Arizona!

Restaurant Manager

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service my party and I received during our recent visit to [DTC] on [9/6/24]. Unfortunately, the experience we had was far from what we expected and significantly impacted our overall enjoyment.

Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and handed menus; however, our server appeared irritated even though we had only been there for 10 minutes. After that, we waited for an additional 20 minutes before our order was taken. When I ordered a michelada, it took over an hour for the drink to arrive, which was highly frustrating. Additionally, my sister's beer was incorrect, and one of our two appetizers was served before my beer arrived.

When all the food was eventually brought out, my drink and the second appetizer were still missing. I had to ask the manager, who was handling food orders, about my drink and the appetizer. Thankfully, he was polite and prompt in addressing the issue, but at that point, nearly an hour and a half had passed.

Our waitress finally brought my beer but did not check in with the table or ask if everything was satisfactory. She disappeared for another 20 minutes and only returned when our table requested refills and the check. Though she initially asked if we wanted separate checks, there was visible frustration when she separated the tabs. Despite this, she placed our orders on the same tab, which caused additional confusion.

While the manager handled the situation professionally, the overall experience was disappointing. The service was slow, communication was poor, and the attitude of our server detracted from what should have been a pleasant evening.

I hope you take this feedback seriously, as it reflects a need for improvement in both the timeliness of service and the professionalism of your staff. I trust that you will address these concerns so future customers do not encounter the same issues.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your...

Awful experience. Got there today at 10:45 for the ASU game. My friends were already there. Waitress said she'd bring over water, never came back, we're watching her getting beers for other tables tho, taking orders, 20 minutes later I found her in the back, asked her to come by, same exact thing, she doesn't come, but she's serving other tables, going back to them several times, never coming to us. I go to her again, ask her to come over, 3rd time now.... she says ok, then walks off in the opposite direction, doesn't come back. Finally get a manager, she apologies and takes my order, I just want a cheeseburger. That's it. 20 minutes later, no cheeseburger. The waitress comes by tho to the table next to us, I get her attn and order a drink. 20 minutes later, no cheeseburger, no drink. I leave. 5 minutes later my food arrived (my friends were still there and texted me after noticing it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 20 minutes) which they boxed up and brought over to me, burger was cold and bad. "Side salad" was shredded lettuce and a couple cherry tomatoes. None of this is...
