The burger tasted good, but I could swear it used to be larger. It cost almost $11 before tax. Average fries and fountain drink are sold separately (lol), $3-something each, making that subtotal almost $18. Tipping is presented as mandatory (all eyes are on you, while you're making relevant selection, during which time you could start getting concerned about how your dishonoring that modernized panhandling might affect the quality of your meal), making the total almost $22. I felt ripped off like I used to be at 4+1 guys years ago (I could imagine that bunch now sell theirs for twice as much).
So, the quantity of food decreased, with the quality of food and service wasn't oustanding for the price at all (unless you count the malfunctioning ice-maker, which I hope was temporary, at this location; wait, that'd be a negative quality; pretend I didn't say anything), but the price got increased to become twice what it should be.
Needless to say, I would not recommend. Also, my non-recommendation extends to all locations.
While the food is only okay, the atmosphere is made awkward by overpricing and panhandling - which gives you something to talk about during the meal, amongst your group.
Boooo
Edit: I'd be surprised if there isn't a small bunch of companies in the valley that provide on-site equipment repair for the service industry, much like the commercial printer repair is done, where they come out and so whatever it takes within few hours. This ice-maker not working may have something to do with employees there not wanting to bother refilling it (I heard there is something like that that's necessary, but I could be wrong).
Edit 2:
Response from the owner 43 minutes ago Honestly, if we were you and that happened, we’d say the same thing. Email us at reviews@smashburger.com and we’ll make it right.
Hey, owner!
I'm not interested in getting refunded. The only way to make "it" right is for you to stop begging your customers for tip money: you pay your employees and I hope to God that you aren't also dipping into the tip jar yourself.
Aside from that, grasping a little much with these...
Read moreRude, rude, rude!! My husband, my daughter and I went in to get drinks first (because it was hot) then we were going to eat. Most of the staff were obviously high school/college students who had big attitudes. We get to the counter and no one was there. we do, however, see a group of the employees in front of the kitchen area talking and laughing. one of the girls finally noticed us, but she took her sweet ass time getting over to us. Then she looked very annoyed when we said that we only wanted drinks. she said "Thats all you want? seriously?" and then, before even giving us our drinks, wanders away to the group of workers. When we called her back, she told us to "chill" and that she would get to us soon (all she did was have to press total and give us drinks) when we were going to put in our points in that electronic thing, she told us that it was just a waste of time. we finally got our drinks and were sitting down. Then as we were relaxing in a seat, the cleaning guy comes through. he dumps water on the table next to us, and gets my daughter, who is in her stroller, all wet and didn't even apologize. he actually laughed. Apparently he didn't like the way we glared at him. As he was moving passed us, he pushed my daughters stroller so that everything (our shopping and baby bag) that was on top of the stroller area was knocked off. They should all be glad that my husband talked me out of smacking each of them. Instead of saying anything, we just left. Workers act like this and expect $15 bucks an hour??? It's stupid. These workers deserve to get paid $5, and that is being generous. The idiots who were rude to us and pushed my daughter, deserve to be fired.
I have had bad service the last 2 times I have gone here. The only reason I went back this last time was because I used to love the service and the people. they used to actually seem to love their jobs. No more though. I will make sure to tell EVERYONE about how bad...
Read moreThis particular location has some issues. We placed our order, she didn’t read the order back so we think she got it right…nope. Completely missed an order of fries. The other girl brought the order over, we asked about a couple things missing she said it’s coming. A minute later comes back to our table tells us we never ordered sweet potato fries and if we wanted them we had to pay for them. Seeming to suggest we are just trying to steal from them. My husband tried to explain that we did in fact order it and the cashier missed it but the girl wanted nothing to do with an explanation. He got up and order the side and they were out in a few minutes no problem. The girls seemed bothered by our presence. I continued to notice their lack of customer service efforts, they let their hair down (you work with food, that’s gross), then a group were just chatting at the front, then everyone disappeared. A customer walked in, took a few minutes for someone to notice. Odd thing was they covered all the trash bins like they had just taken the trash out to close up but it was only 6:30pm. I’ve worked in the food industry and I really appreciate good customer service which I’ve definitely had at other smash burgers but this location I don’t think knows what a customer is. You could tell they did not want people there, so you’ll get your way I...
