Not only did they take almost 10 mins to prepare my Order of Edamame and Miso Soup. The Cashier was rude when I complained that other orders (meat plates) of customers who came in after me were going out before I had even gotten my simple order. The cashier rudely said do I want uncooked food!? I watched her not only handle money but start helping prepare the food orders without washing her hands. I watched as she dropped my edamame to be steamed and slowly prepared my miso soup after I complained on how long it was taking to get my food. Finally after requesting my money back and the cashier being rude again, the manager came over and tried to calm me down with the cashier behind him smirking which upset me more, he tried to explain to me that it takes four minutes to cook the miso soup because of the chicken which irritated me even more knowing that there is no chicken in miso soup!!! I just wanted to get the hell out of here!!! They completely dropped the ball on a very simple order! Even though he said he would do what it took to make me happy and I requested my money back but said why don’t you give me the food I ordered then... which they took back from me quicker than they prepared it!? As I eat the edamame... I’m Hesitant to eat the soup because I have a feeling the cashier did something to it because it does not take that long to pack a ToGo order... I definitely wouldn’t trust the meat if the meat orders came out quicker than a simple vegetable that was supposed to be steamed for only a few minutes and miso soup that should’ve been already pre-prepared for the day.
-I forgot to mention when the cashier was finally handing me my food she asked if I wanted any sauce, knowing damn well I ordered edamame and miso soup... I’m kind of confused on why she would ask me if I wanted sauce with an order that had no meat involved... next time you don’t want to customer to make a scene just quickly give them back their money and don’t act like your food service is so great that you have to take back the food when you should’ve just went ahead and offered me my food and my money back. If this is the type of customer service we as patrons get for $11.75 an hour, I’m done with going out to eat... I’d rather prepare my own food and eat in...
Read moreWhile waiting 20 minutes, without a line, to have "fast food" cooked for me, among other things, NOT ONE person working there (4 total that I saw), could be bothered to wear a face mask properly. All 4 had their masks covering their mouths, and not their nose. This completely defeats the point, amd personally I will not be dining here any longer... One person represents a conversation needing to be had. Your entire staff flouting safety guidelines? That tells me that either ownership or management need to get with the times.
Not wanting to pick a fight with one person, much less the entire staff, I didnt say anything, but it is clear that the health precautions here are clearly lagging behind employee sentiment.
Not to be "that guy", but if there was an option for 0 stars, I'd have selected it. I frequented Yogis for the last 5 years after moving here... Because of the long love affair, I'm not willing to call it quits, but the Tempe location has me pretty close to doing so. Twice this week I have stopped by there. Here's what I experienced...
Chicken was dry/overcooked BOTH TIMES Rice was overcooked to the point it tasted more like mashed potatoes than it did rice. Both times, my food was drowned in sauce, to the point of absurdity, then politely given a teeny tiny side of sauce "in case that wasn't enough".
Yogi's used to be a trusted place to eat, but as of this moment, you couldn't pay me to eat there.
Feel free to check it out, and I'm sure they will get better, but right now I would suggest keeping an eye out for the following...
Employees moving directly from prep work to the the cashier station back with no washing of the hands Employees not properly using PPE while working (regularly wearing maskes over mouths and not over noses) Employees handling fish, chicken and other proteins without washing hands or changing gloves..
All I can say is that Yogi's has been a favorite for a long time. But, if your ownership/management/employees can't get it together, it will quickly end up shuttering its doors like oh so many other...
