I recently visited Tan Cha and had an unfortunate experience that left me quite dissatisfied. Upon arrival, I was eager to immerse myself in the vibrant atmosphere, only to find that both the coin and token machines were broken, which resulted in wasting $20 of cash. It was disheartening to see that the worker present was unable to fix the issue, nor did they seem knowledgeable about a possible solution.
The drinks were another letdown. I tried the grape tea, which was palatable, but the signature lime/lemon tea was overwhelmingly sour and undrinkable, to the point where I had to leave it behind. Additionally, I was surprised to find my drinks served warm, without any ice, which is not what I expected.
The overall service compounded these frustrations. The worker was unsmiling, rude, and lacked the necessary knowledge to address or resolve concerns. To top it off, I was looking forward to trying the jasmine tea, but was told, rather abruptly, that it was "out."
Based on this experience, I won't be returning to Tan Cha. I hope they address these issues for the sake of their...
Read moreFirst time here! Had a good experience. Ordered the classic milk tea with cheese foam and the Thai tea with tiramisu. (Both with boba and no sugar adjustments) can say both were solid drinks. Good creamy yet rich blend. And the foams were phenomenal, potentially the best in the area! My reason for deducting a star is because of their actual boba. I don’t know if it was possibly an old batch or just not cooked properly. But it was hard. To the point it took away from any flavour it had and made the drinking experience a little less pleasant. Did not have too much interaction with the staff. But they greeted me when I came in and were polite, as I received my drinks and when I left. The decor is wonderful. Nothing seems out of place and everything is intentionally put. They have a little claw machine for while you’re waiting and their mascot ready for a good photo op. Will go again to try and give their boba a...
Read moreWe had the opportunity to stop by this place today. I ordered an Orange Oolong Tea for myself, while my husband got what I believe was Cocoa Tiramisu. We had to wait for a while because the owner was training his new staff. Usually, this wouldn't be a problem for me, but my daughter was having a meltdown, so I wished he would just give us the drinks instead.
My drink was really fresh, and despite ordering it with 100% sugar, it wasn't overly sweet at all. My husband's cocoa drink was impressive, although it wasn't to my personal taste, I still thought it was good. I gave it a 4-star rating because the drinks were quite expensive. Without the soft opening discount, it would have cost nearly $19 for just two drinks. Additionally, the boba was bland. We might consider returning if we happen to be in...
