One of my least favorite parts of being a musician is that, in the bar scene, we as artists are incentivized to pressure our friends to drink more beer so we can get paid. What a breath of fresh air to find a great stage where we can hang out late into the night, drive home safely when we go, not worry about our friends, and still support a local venue.
It was very clean, and remarkably comfortable. I sampled their many chairs and didn't want to get up and leave.
All I had was hot green tea, but they offer kratom, kava, sodas, and a self-serve water dispenser. They were cooking pizzas that smelled delicious. There is no alcohol in the house. I tipped more than I spent and you should also take care of your bartenders.
The open mic night was bustling, and evolved into a jam session later on, with members of a local tribute band becoming the backing band. The people who perform were talented and funny and were a joy to watch. Then, just as we were about to leave we watch some of the owners band member and friends (including Walter Richardson!), come in so we stayed a little later and boy am I glad we did. We ended up watching, interacting and listening to a wonderfully talented band jam out for over 3 hours. It was like we had the Beatles, AC/DC, Bon Jovie, Heart and so many other live performances just for us.
Now, let's talk about the food and drink. We had alternative plans in case the menu was a typical "bar" menu. We were pleased with the pizza and the meat balls and ravioli. The deconstructed canolli was to die for!.
Not being big drinkers anyway we were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of Mock tails as well as coffee and tea. The staffs knowledge of the infused herbs an elixirs made trying something new, a exciting adventure.
We look forward to going back and it must of been a perfect date as we stayed out .WAY past our...
