Catalyst Crafted Ales — Restaurant in Tempe

After much hype heard I had my inaugural visit early Friday afternoon. I'll just say... delicious beer? Sweet digs? Quality beery conversation? Easy parking? Comfortable seating? Catalyst Crafted checked all my boxes!! Right away beertender Brad and I were chatting beer and styles.... which lead in to more just beery conversation... so I already thought he was delightful so I told him my one hard and fast brewery rule is: no matter how good or bad the beer is? 90% of why I come back is...who's behind the bar... if we can chat beer and all things beeriness, I'm in. But in Catalyst's case.... the everything will not only bring me back but based on my visit they inserted themselves in to my list of Top Five valley breweries. Stumbled upon this place on our way home, and I’m so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and laid-back, which made it the perfect stop to wind down. The bartender was not only friendly but also incredibly helpful in guiding us through their beer selection. I really appreciated how attentive he was in helping us choose something that matched our tastes. it made the experience feel more personalized.

We decided to order some food to go with our drinks, and let me just say, it did not disappoint. The toritos were flavorful, super filling, and definitely hit the spot. You could tell they take pride in both their drinks and their food, which is always a win in my book.

Holy cow! Catalyst is literally blowing my mind and reigniting my old passions for beer! I have been in the Valley for a long time and got to be a part of the big beer renaissance that happened around 2017, and this brewery is innovating and totally pushing the envelope beyond that. My tastes have been saturated by juicy or hazy IPAs. Nothing wrong with them and I like them still, but everyone is doing it. These guys are bringing back clean flavor profiles with complexity outside of just "juice". Their Hyzer is a hopped lager and it is such a welcome change. So far beyond anything like hop-water, it stands on its own and still has something to offer after blowing our my palate on a huge imperial stout (Impact Player), which was baller AF.

What great service and ambiance! I will be back with my family for taco Tuesday and to get down on these and some more incredible beer.
