I have been an Ajisen Ramen customer for over a decade, starting from the Century City/Los Angeles location. When moved to the San Gabriel Valley area, I continued to order take out from the Temple City location. I have always enjoyed their Premium Pork Ramen dish and was always satisfied with my meal. Unfortunately, on 9/18/22 (check #41) I was on my way out of the area, but stopped along the way to pick up my order and when I arrived at my destination, I commenced to eating my meal. It was a horrible experience eating my meal. First, the ramen was not ramen, rather, it had a taste of spaghetti. Ramen is thin white noodles. The noodles that attempted to pass for ramen was either spaghetti or something else, and the ramen was twice the thickness of the ramen I had eaten through the years. The broth was not as tasteful because it was lacking the spicy and fullness of the broth.
I am writing this review not because I take pleasure, because I rarely write reviews. Only when I'm deeply dissatisfied with a purchase or product have I ever written a review. And, this is one of those instances where I spent $15.82 plus $3 cash tip and through half of my meal in the trash. Unfortunately, I will not return to this restaurant and I am saddened by it, because it was truly one of the places I would drive to, when I wanted to satisfy my craving. Very disappointed!

Read moreFirst time I knew Arisen was when they had their booth in Century City Westfield Mall, West LA. I have been addicted to it ever since. My #1 favorite ramen noodle, specifically the spicy pork ramen. Love it so much. I tried different ramen menu but to me, the spicy pork is the best - because of the ingredients, the spicy taste, all combined together. I also have tried the one in Alhambra, they are good as well.
Then I came across this location, Temple City. I ordered the same dish, and I was like.. "What is this?" It doesn't taste the same. The thickness of the broth is so different - like water-down soup base... I didn't enjoy it at all. It's a bummer, I felt like I don't like this ramen anymore. I hope the other location still make it good! At this location the service is also slow. Not that happy during my visit here.
The sign of the restaurant is covered by the tree if you are coming from temple city Road towards this place, not from the other way around. I got lost 2 times because of the unseen sign, so pay attention when...
Read moreAjisen in Irvine was the golden standard for Ramen for me and my family. The spicy beef bowl was something no other spot had and was just addictive with it's flavor and profile. After Irvine ajisen closed we decided to make the trek to temple city one day. We'll today was the day, and I must say in comparison. The atmosphere is much dingier, the people are still delightful, however the food was much more tame, egg and beef were slightly cold while the broth was sizzling hot. The spicy Ramen both had 0 spiciness to it. It was good Ramen but a solid 3/5 as far as Ramen spots go, no complaints really but not the ajisen I use to hold as the gold standard. Will come back and try again another day. Perhaps it was an off day for temple...
