I suppose I only have myself to blame. We came in to eat 45 minutes before closing. I don't eat shrimp often because my boyfriend is allergic to it. And I've really want to try the shrimp. My boyfriend and our daughter got their meals first. Mine had to wait. Which is fine. When i got my order i didn't get the second side i had requested because they had just ran out and instead of calling us to the counter to ask me what other side i may want they just brought (cold) fries. Mind you my other side was cheesy potatoes. 2 sides of potatoes wasn't what i was looking forward to. My shrimp looked great though. Only 1 wasn't deveined and that's okay. What struck me as odd is that the manager im assuming seemed to be coaching the gentleman before bringing me my food. Once i started eating my shrimp the first 2 at the top had a long hair wrapped in the tail of the shrimp. It made me so sick to see that. So i separated the 3 shrimp that were touching it. But for the life of me it just turned my stomach and i had to force myself to eat what i had. I didn't touch the fries. And i didn't complain to the guy? He seemed nervous when he came to ask me how my food was and i didn't want him to feel bad. I could tell the place was in a rush to close. I give it 3 stars because for 55 bucks we got a sampler, kids meal and shrimp plate and at least 2 out of the 3 meals were good. This post lost 2 stars because i was disgusted and had a hard time eating and cant afford the money to not eat what we purchased. I've worked in restaurants the first half of my life and i have high standards for service. This just backs my opinion that its not worth going out to eat anymore. Home cooked food is safer and better tasting. I wont be returning to this location again. I truly hope that no one has to find hair in their food or just given whatever the restaurant wants to give in a replacement for a side, and then feel worried their food will be tampered with if...
Read moreWe drove over 30 minutes to dine at this location, but we will not be back due to dishonest practices. It is a shame that a place that plasters their walls with images of honor and courage show no integrity. We came in this weekend and ordered two combos. Our total seemed a bit higher than we expected based on the menu prices, but the cashier brushed it off and told us that their prices had just increased. We were not offered a receipt. When we got to our seat, we added up the totals of our selections and as suspected, it was about $5 less than what we were charged. I asked the cashier for a receipt and she printed it for me. Then I see that we were charged extra for the special "hero" cups. I told the cashier that I didn't realize that there was another option, as she didn't ask if we wanted the special cups. She told me, "You have to tell us that you don't want the hero cups because we are trying to sell them." I looked across the cash registers and regular paper cups were not visible, so it wasn't clear that there was another option to ask for. The manager refunded the money, but never once apologized or instructed the cashiers to make sure they actually ask if someone wanted to purchase the extra cup (which cost $2.50 more). When we originally asked why our total was so high, that was a perfect opportunity for the cashier to explain that the cup was an up charge, but she did not do that. Looking around the restaurant, nearly everyone had the hero cups which makes me think that they were automatically charging everyone. Whether this was a directive from management or something the cashiers chose to do on their own is irrelevant because in either case it is extremely dishonest...
Read moreThe food was really good, I tried the three meat sampler today. I got the pulled pork, pulled chicken, and brisket. Brisket was just okay, but they sent someone with samples of the chopped brisket and that was a lot better. But I loved the pulled pork and chicken. I also had green beans. I couldn't eat it all so they gave me a to go box. I tried multiple of their six sauces on the table, I didn't try spicy, but the rest were really good. I've had their ribs before and the round something special a while back. Their special this time was barbeque shrimp 🍤, but I haven't tried that yet. The food was cheap especially for something I can have left over for another day. I will say years ago someone took me here, they gave us free coupons to come back, but no one wanted to. I went back because it was the place n walking or scooter 🛴 distance to get ribs. Last time I tried the pulled pork I think, I tried it again today because of the sampler and loved it. There are fast food places near by, but I feel like you can get a really good meal at an actual restaurant for the same price. Studies show if the employees are paid well and happier and can spend more, happy employees make happier customers, but they don't studies show they don't need to raise the price to pay the employees, the lower prices and good food will bring in people. Just like this place, mission barbeque. I didn't see too many customers but they deserve way more than the Wendy's next door abouts. Sorry Wendy's. I could complain about Wendy's but this is to compliment mission barbeque. ...
