Gone to this location multiple times the last year and generally had very good food and quick and kind service. That being said, the last couple times I have gone to this location it has been disappointing. Mostly feel like the food quality has gone downhill. Did management change?
Today we ordered three orders of Spring Rolls and a plate meal all Orange Chicken and Fried Rice. Got our food and while pulling out looked in to find we were missing an order of spring rolls. No big deal it happens. We go back through drive through and tell the speaker we requested three orders but only received two. Panda employee asked if we had our receipt to which I told her we did not receive a receipt. Was told to look in the bag and who would of thought? The receipt still was not in there. Was asked if I'm "sure its not in there" and wow it was still not in our bag! I then pulled up to the window and turns out Panda had the receipt. I was told after the employee reviewed the receipt that I had ordered two spring roll orders (I ordered three orders) and asked if I still wanted to order the other one? Yes Panda employees I would like to order the food I have requested twice now and came back through the drive through specifically for...
Only after placing the second order would the employee decide to give me my receipt for the first order he was holding hostage.
We get our other order of spring rolls and head home. All is well until I look into my food and find that the Orange Chicken meal I ordered looked different. Looked very grey and had full chili peppers. I was confused as I could tell it was Orange chicken so maybe a recipe changed? I attempted to call the store several times to confirm my theory and no answer. very frustrating. I drive back to Panda and when at the window I find the same employee as before and I ask if the orange chicken recipe changed and attempted to give him the food I received as this is not what I ordered and I couldn't eat it. He told me to keep it and said I probably got the spicy orange chicken by mistake. Then he requested my receipt and I gave it to him. He looked at it and told me I ordered the spicy orange chicken meal because the receipt said so. (I didn't even know this meal existed...) I was dumbfounded so I just stared at him and after an awkward silence he said he would get me my meal anyways. Once I got my food I ordered I looked and surprise! it was missing the fried rice...The employee would have known the order had rice if he paid attention to the plate of food instead of being dismissive when I was trying to show him what was wrong with the order.
Skip this location, I suggest the Waco or Harker Heights Panda if you want to get what...
Read moreI was heading there and my family called less than thirty minutes to check if we could walk in, order, then walk out. So then we got there I had my mother, grandmother, and aunt, all in which are visually impaired or blind and they told us that they were not allowing walk-ins after the door was unlocked! When we walked in multiple people telling us they weren’t allowing walk-ins a worker came over to try and talk to us. We explained we called to see if we could walk in and we were told yes. Finally after some debating we were allowed in to simply order food but the food on the website was not correct/discontinued so I had to read different options to my other family members to let them know the options. I understand it it just got discontinued but if it has been gone for some time it needs to be off the website. They weren’t the kindest and though my mother told them she was visually impaired, they didn’t help her at all. Please know visually impaired doesn’t mean completely blind but it was much more challenging to see things. My grandmother being completely blind asked for her two plates she ordered, (one for her, one for her husband) in separate bags asking which was which and they didn’t let her know which was which, we had to open and assume because it was overall difficult. After tasting the food I was not pleased, the noodles were dry and I had to order something completely different since they didn’t have what I planned. I had Panda Express before at Texas A&M and it was incredible but this place let me down. I like the Chinese place in the mall much better because they are much kinder and food taste much better. Overall this experience made me disappointed with trying their food and I won’t be...
Read moreThree different visits the same experience. Rude service. Multiple dishes not ready with a 15-30 minute wait time to have the dish prepared, including no fried rice.
First, what chinese food restaurant runs out of fried rice? That is a mainstay of americanized chinese food. The manager couldn't even answer that question...all ge could say is it would take 30 minutes to make the fried rice.
Second, after prep work, fried rice takes less than 10 minutes to make, as I frequently make it at home and I know the cook is not actually doing any prep work because their food comes pre-prepped.
Third, if I am going to wait 30 minutes for a fast-food chinese restaurant to make an entree for me, I might as well go to a sit down chinese restaurant, like Saigon Cafe, where entrees like crispy duck take 30 minutes, but dishes like crispy shrimp comes out in 15 minutes as do most of their dishes. Plus, the servers there are amazingly attentive.
Fourth....the drive thru line is so long they had to reroute it thru the actual driveway between their parking lot and Taco Bell....and way slow. It takes 30-40 minutes to get thru the drivethru. I can get thru the drivethru of Rice Etc in less than 10 minutes....and they always have fried rice.
I'm not sure who is the general manager for this location, but a better job needs to be done. I like panda express and visit the harker heights and bastrop locations occasionally when we are in those areas, but the Temple location, while highly anticipated, is a huge let down. It was amazing the first time we went, but every visit after that has been...
