Sometimes retailers are mistaken. Having pride in their skills and quality items sold at their place of work is to think that it is separate from customer service. Even if it is a popular and well-known restaurant, customer service is the first priority for consumers. You shouldn't be fooled customers just because it's a famous catering bakery.
I'm not writing this review to get an apology from you guys. Apologies are useless. You shouldn't have done that before you apologized. Pretending not to know, pretending not to hear, pretending not to see, pretending not to remember in order to cover up your staffsâ mistakes, that was not polite to the consumer who have been polite to your food.
You guys are having trouble counting customers in turn on July 29, 2023 Saturday morning my visiting at La Promenade in Tenafly,NJ. If you count the customers in order, the order must be correct. An older lady who came in later than me who insisted that she came first and I was who waited 10 minutes holding items to be purchased, but a tall brown hair cashier girl put old ladyâs things first at the checkout counter even I told the cashier it was my turn. The cashier has ignored my comments and pretend she has not seen me for 10 min. It was insane because I was waiting for my turn and standing behind the man she was helping.
While I was waiting, nobody said âsomeone will be with you shortly.â They were all busy and running around behind the counter. Someone finally came to the register only when older lady shouted at me that she had come first. But nobody confronted that lady I was there before her.
There was only a male customer in front of me and me behind him waiting for 10 minutes with things in my chest. How could the tall brown-haired woman who helped the man not see me when I was alone with him? How come the people who worked there didn't tell there were 2 customers in the store until the older woman came in?
Will I be able to digest the delicious food you made with a feeling of unfairness? I had to refund items after all after that incident before going home. I returned items at La Promenade same day.
When I went to La Promenade to return my stuff, the woman at the register knew why I came back. Demanding way, She told me âyou're not returning food because there is no problems, right?â I really didnât like her drama queen type of attitude. I had to call the manager due to the staff who bites the tail and trying argues with the customer who wants to return items.
The woman knew I was in a bad mood, but the staffs who working there throughout the day did not understand that a customer service issue was the problem.
The store manager quietly returned the items. She didn't apologize, but the manager seemed to admit their customer service were wrong. In the meantime, there were good staff. Needless to say, everyone was a bit harsh...
Read moreI originally ordered two cakes from La Promenade for my son's one year birthday. Kris, one of the employees, helped me and I showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted. I paid for the cakes in advance without question. On the day I came to pick up the first cake, it was not what I had shown her in the picture at all (I had wanted buttercream wisps all around the cake and the one they made did not have them). I told her and she said the bakery could fix it, which I appreciated. When I asked her how much it would cost, she told me we would discuss "later". I found it strange that I wouldn't get the price up front (I'm not sure who buys something without knowing what it costs first), but I didn't push her and was hopeful that they understood it was a mistake on their part so they would not charge me. When I came back to pick up the cake, it was perfect BUT Kris told me she was giving me a deal by charging me $25 extra instead of the original price of $40. I paid for it, but told Kris I wish she had told me the price PRIOR to doing the work when I had asked her. First, they didn't make the cake I wanted (despite being shown a picture), charged me extra for work they should have done, and then had the audacity to tell me they were giving me a deal. $65 for a 4inch smash cake with buttercream - nothing extra special here. I accepted the charges because I know nothing about cakes (maybe buttercream is really expensive) and didn't make an issue but called back and canceled the second cake order which was for the next day. I didn't want to argue with them, just wanted to be done with it. When I spoke to Kris about issuing a refund, she told me how canceling the order was unfortunate because the bakery had done me a favor and gone out of their way to help me. I thanked her and explained that the bakery didn't do me a favor by fixing the cake to meet the specifications I asked for, that they agreed to, and which I paid for. Instead of owning up to their mistake, Kris was instigating an argument and claiming that I was at fault.
This experience just left a really bad taste in my mouth. I'm not sure how good the product is, but the customer experience was terrible. I had every right to not take the wrong cake they made, but instead, I worked with them and paid the additional money they asked for. Instead of just moving on, Kris went out of her way to blame me. All she had to do was issue the refund and keep her mouth shut.
I'll never go to this bakery and I will not recommend it to others. I never argued with Kris or the staff, I paid what they asked for. I wouldn't have posted this review if they didn't get petty. But, for a business to go out of their way to argue with a customer when the business was at fault is just...
Read moreWedding cake came as a part of our venue cost otherwise we would not have went with them
All we wanted was an estimate, just a number, so we can account for it as we are wedding planning.
Unless your wedding is happening in maybe the next 1-3 months wouldn't trust them with being organized with anything thats even less than a year away because it might be "too far in advanced" for them. They have done nothing to instill any trust that they're organized enough to deliver our cake on time or even remember the date it's scheduled for. All in all they cause more stress...
