tl;dr - boy do I hope you can avoid the young waitress.
It's rare that I'd tank a restaurant with decent food to a 1 star because of service, let alone the service of a single waitress, but the haughtiness of the young waitress in this establishment puts any fantasy of a "bad waitress" you may have to shame.
From the annoyed sigh if you don't order the first time she comes around, to the angry shuffling of plates if you aren't 100% on top of your dinner-tetris game when new dishes arrive, to the poorly disguised did-not-see-your-request-for-more-tea, she really is the antithesis of putting customers first.
Judging from the other reviews, it's a pretty common recurrence, which isn't surprising considering there's basically 1 waitress besides the (much nicer) kitchen staff who help bring out the food / bill.
It's a shame since this is probably never going to change. The gentler, older folks who own this restaurant are probably not the type to see google reviews and try to correct the young waitress's behavior, while the young waitress herself clearly gives no cahoots about customers' opinions or satisfaction.

Read moreLiving in Demarest, I've seen many Korean restaurants come and go in Closter, Cresskill, Tenafly, and in between. I've then heard that this has opened and came a few times, during lunch and dinner times. I've tried the $10 lunch and $15 JungSik (정식) specials, soft tofu soup (순두부찌개), and tonight.. KalGookSoo, 'Noodle Soup' under their winter specials (칼국수). I've always had great-tasting Korean meals. I love that I don't have to drive out to Palisades Park or Fort Lee for a Korean meal that is not sub-par/mediocre. This place has the 'homemade by mom' taste to their dishes, side dishes, AND dessert SikHye (식혜) 'rice drink' is chilly and delicious. Great attentive service. Has become one of my favorite local spots and glad that it's a...
Read moreSat down for a since Sunday meal with the family and told the waitress our son has a serious food allergy. She recommended the seafood pancake sans shrimp which we enjoyed. Ordered the combo with the soft tofu soup and luckily we saw the shrimp floating on top before it was too late. When we told the waitress the tone changed and it was our fault for not asking for the removal of the shrimp. We could clearly hear the kitchen folks yelling about our mistake. Terrible terrible...
