The Spring Cafe — Restaurant in Tenafly

Upd from 6/19: came again 11 am, out of regular milk again. Side door is locked. It says call us but no one answered. Shame, shame. The space is so big but it’s hardly accessible for strollers/ handicap.

It was good initially when we found out this place. But I came on Tuesday 11 am and they were out of regular milk. The only options were oat or almond which I didn’t want. I ended up with getting cappuccino with some leftovers of the milk instead of latte that was not even full cup. Coffee shop with no milk for latte, really guys?! Another thing that is inconvenient is stroller access. There was initially stroller access on the side but now they locked the door. So how are you supposed to get inside with the stroller ? Also stroller access to their famous backyard obstructed with a bench from outside and locked door just behind the bar from inside. Please do something for the strollers! And buy enough milk… Cakes and muffins which they are making from scratch are good ( there is also a gluten free option). Croissants are not good cause they are not always fresh and made from ready-to-bake dough. Omelet was mediocre. This place has a potential but needs some...

Incredible space for kids with two indoor play areas and outdoor swings. The atmosphere is incredible overall with multiple rooms and seating options plus a garden area that's just gorgeous.

There are snacks and food options. They're hit or miss to be honest. The chicken tacos with the red hot sauce were excellent. The pb&j is great when they trim the crust and make it like an empanada but when they're busy they just do it as a regular sandwich.

Wish they served beer.

I'm told there will be an ice cream area in the summer.

I live in Brooklyn, and as often as I can, I make it a point to find an excuse to be in the area because of the Spring Cafe. I ventured there today, and was pretty disappointed to find that the menu was significantly pared down. The cauliflower, the sandwiches, the tacos, and other items, gone. Also, breakfast stops at 11:00. What happened? Economic reasons? Anyway, I still love the atmosphere and the staff is great. I hope that things get back to the...
