I was not happy with my experience at this establishment, and neither was my family. I originally was not going to include some of the information in here to be nice, but the way this was handled was not acceptable. My family and I ate there; I ordered a steak sandwich with fries cooked medium rare. When the food came out, I was struggling to find the steak on my sandwich; there was barely any. For the amount of money charged for this, I want to see steak falling out of the sandwich generously. I was still hungry after this and had to go somewhere else. Aside from the lack of meat, the sandwich itself was small, more like snack size. C’mon feed me I am hungry is all I really need to say because it is what I was thinking for the brief 2 minutes it took for me to eat it. The sandwich was alright but bland. The one thing these guys did get right is the fries; they were nice and crispy however not enough of them. We took a meal home for my brother which ended up having some metal in it (sounds ridiculous but the owner already acknowledged). The manager or owner, whoever spoke to us, said to come into the restaurant anytime and he will leave an envelope containing our refund for that part of the meal. We went back and you guessed it, the owner or manager was not there and we were told to wait until Thursday. Let me explain something to restaurants in general. When you are asking someone to come back, the customer is already being inconvenienced in donating time, gas, and irritation to return. Some customers like us don’t come from not across the street, so it is not as simple as just coming back. Secondly, when we return and there is no refund as promised, that is not only a waste of time but an insult to our time. It is showing the customer that you don’t care, and are barely putting any thought in the serious mistake made with the food. Hopefully the refund is granted because as said, it was already promised. We understand the host couldn’t do anything about it at the moment, but let's be courteous; if you have customers who are willing to come in due to an error made by the restaurant, make sure you have it all together so when the customer arrives there won’t be more arguing. Aside from a very small flavorless sandwich, I did have some fries that were not bad at all but that was not enough to redeem the experience. I would skip this place and maybe try one of the diners nearby unless you are intrigued by the small menu and would like to see...
Read moreIt was supposed to be a special dinner as we thought it will be the French experience for our kids who wanted to taste french food. Nothing was French at all. Maybe the starters bread - baquette - you can count as a French dish. The beats were totally unseasoned without any flavor, tuna tartare was just cut avocado and cut tuna nothing else no taste and served with chips which would probably make French people scream out of their lungs if they just saw that. Because if you go to Paris, French riviera or Provence, you get a very good French bread that goes with tuna tartare, not chips. And let's go to the main course, worth of $120. Not much French dishes to choose from but Coc Au Vin which they interpret by serving chicken instead of roster, ridiculous. So we ended up ordering 4 Steak frittes which was totally average steak, which was not done as we wished for, apparently medium rare means well done for the chef because it was just not good. The only edible thing of our dinner was french fries which my boys were happy with and I was not. Thank God, we have our own two bottles of wine that we could drink to make our evening better. Oh, I almost forgot desserts, you would probably think that there would be chocolate mousse, creme brulee or something French, but you are wrong. The choices were a lava cake, mini doughnuts, halva and apple pie with ice cream. Something I never had in France and I'm sure French people would not choose either. Donuts are not very French are they? That's probably it. Very disappointed, $220 for 4 people definitely wasted. Never coming back. Ps: I usually take pictures of the food so I can show, Not today. I did not even feel like taking my camera out of the bag. So no pictures and I am advising you to go next-door to frozen yogurt please because you're gonna have much more fun there than you...
Read moreTenafly has many nice cute restaurants, and one of them is Brasserie, located in Washington Ave.
The interior presents nice red leather-like covered booths, with outdoors extension - sidewalk - terrace. Either a lunch with your girlfriends or a late romantic dinner, this place is accommodating nicely.
The food is wonderfully tasty, the portions are generous, the staff is amazing, and the prices are more than reasonable.
The mussels in white wine sauce and garlic are served in a huge bowl accompanied by fresh bread. The Cezar salad is served with crunchy walnuts, ricotta chease, french fries in a cone, and ketchup. After this regale feast, one cannot skip a fantastic dessert. The vanila ice cream with caramel sauce and shreaded halva is the house's statement, and the freshly baked apple pie served with vanila ice cream, whipped cream, all drizzled with caramel sauce are a hit.
I am always happy to give credit where credit is due.
