This is one of those places that does it right. I'm out of town from St. Louis, MO, home of Ted Drew's Frozen Custard, and I worked three years at Bobby's Frozen Custard in Maryville, Illinois. Ritter's has chocolate custard that is darker and much richer than the two aforementioned custard shoppes. So, I asked if they could make a good German Chocolate blended treat. Visited for the very first time yesterday and I just have to say this puts any other place that sells custard to shame. Service was amazing! I don't know the young man who waited on me and my family, but he deserves an atta-boy because he let me add mallow creme to my treat and I can tell you it was heaven. Plenty of outdoor seating. They offer 0 sugar custard. Have social distancing measures for waiting in line at the counter. Prices were reasonable for quality custard. Kid and pet friendly. Love this place. Definitely a favorite! On my recent visit, I did have a boy yell BYE ELIJAH (or maybe Eliza) at me though I was clearly by myself and no one else nearby. I checked the mirror to make sure I didn't spontaneously have a half inch gap between my two front teeth, causing him to mistake me for Elijah Wood, but I didn't see anything. I also checked my passenger seat and window; perhaps an Elijah was now riding shotgun or staring in my window.
