China Wok — Restaurant in Terre Haute

About 10:50am Tuesday March 4th I walked in. Wasn’t sure what to order. I ask about the boneless spareribs. The young man said they’re the best. You will love them! 9.99+tax and a gave a tip! I get home the fried rice was warm at best, hard and crunchy! obviously not steamed back to life for the day yet!! I live 5 minutes away! The meat was so hard and tough you couldn’t chew it! So I ate peanut butter toast!! Today after work I called to take it back. Seven minutes on home. Then she was rude and said bring it back if you didn’t eat any of it ok.. I didn’t want to embarrass them by just showing up. She was so rude and humiliated me in front of customers. You are half of it, I said I spit out one bite only. She kept insisting that I ate half and now want something else. I said if I could have eaten it, I would have. It’s like old shoe leather. I said yes I’ll take a general sol instead (it’s cheaper too) I walked outside to wait and she was still bad mouthing me to customers. I could hear her…. Look at this it’s half gone. I walked back in. I said clearly you can see it’s a full container. I didn’t even tell her that the one bite I couldn’t chew also tasted like the refrigerator… . You know that NOT fresh taste that takes on other old flavors… bad… I will never go back. It was so embarrassing but 12 bucks it 12 bucks!! It used to be a good place. It had been years since I visited and I’ll never go back… the two men sat there listening to her talk to them about me…. It was humiliating. Then she kept saying hers your food for free. Free she kept saying.. not free I said I paid plenty yesterday.. what a see you next...

The lady who runs the front counter has NO customer service skiils! We USED to order from here any time we wanted Chinese. The LAST time we ordered we had it delivered. Time was double what I was told. I looked past that and chalked it up to a busy Friday night. However our order was missing items. I called to let them know, only to be called a LIAR!!! She told me she put all my food in the bag. I told her I didn't receive all of it & she said yes you did! She argued with me and NEVER once offered to fix the problem. I told her maybe it fell out in the delivery guys vehicle. She said I don't know what happened but you got all your food! We drove to the restaurant and demanded a refund. She continued to call me a liar and started pulling food out of the bag to prove me wrong. She realized not all the food was there & accused us of lying about it once again. My husband got stern with her so she finally have us a refund. We will NEVER go there again. Also upon talking to some friends other people have had...

We are traveling through and staying at a hotel in the area. We placed a door dash order about 45 minutes before close. We were told it was accepted but door dash kept delaying the delivery time and said they were still looking for a driver. Being that it was now after the restaurant was to be closed, we had given up, figured we wouldn’t get our Chinese and we were pretty bummed, hubs got ready to leave to pickup a chain burger just to get us fed when he opened our door to our room and found a man getting ready to knock! I don’t know this to be sure but it appears that some staff from the restaurant took it upon themselves to deliver our food! We are blown away by the service! They really went WAY above and beyond and exceeded our expectations in every way! We both got lomain and it was fantastic and the crab ragoons taste great! Perfect balance of sweet and crunchy!

We cannot thank the China Wok staff enough and highly recommend them! We will order again next time we’re back...
