Panaderia Abuelito Terrell — Restaurant in Terrell

Where do I began? Came in to order a cake for a bridal shower, young girl took the order didn’t confirm anything. Bad customer service from the start. Should’ve been my clue to go elsewhere. Figuring sure I’ll give this new place a chance. 4 days later when cake is supposed to be ready she calls from her cell phone didn’t leave a voicemail I just happened to return the missed call. Says cakes will be ready at 5 instead of 4:00. Despite the fact that the event started at 5:00 I went ahead and said ok. I show up they have the words HAPPY BIRTHDAY on my bridal shower cakes! Says oh we didn’t have the words you wanted so we put that on top. I said WHAT take that off this isn’t even a Bday. Anyways. They remove it fine but left the same box top on instead of replacing the box top so now there are huge holes in top of the box! Strike 3 now this part ticked me off: I understand Spanish because I speak it every day at work despite the fact that I have no Latin decent. So when they’re standing there in front of me at the register bc at this point I just need to pay and leave, the young girl and tall guy towering over her talking about me in front of my face in Spanish!!! When he asked why is she wanting a 10% discount? I replied in English BECAUSE THIS WHOLE THING WAS CRAZY! And his eyes got big and he walked off. I literally had already told them I can hear you and they proceeded to talk about me that was so rude and that’s why I’m doing the review. I will not be referring anyone. There manager wanted to argue with me keep in mind at this point my blood is boiling but I’m keeping my cool, because I was asking him to take off $10 instead of 10% it’s the principal of having me run late not to mention the finger impressions from where the happy bday was removed in the top center of my cake. Pics don’t do justice. And then over 30 people at the bridal shower all said the tres leche taste like ONE MILK and we made a joke out of it. What a day!!! Could’ve been resolved with out bad customer service being rendered in the first or second visit. No i won’t be back and neither...

This Mexican bakery is phenomenal!! I do Amazon deliveries and everytime I get sent to Terrell I have to to stop and get some baked goods. Everything I’ve had has been so delicious and so fresh. Not to mention a very welcoming place and always get service with a smile!

I’m kinda shocked that this place is packed with a line out the door at all hrs of operations but I’m confident that will be happening soon for them.

There is no need to go to any other panaderia for Mexican Sweet Bread. This establishment is highly known throughout the Pleasant Grove and Old Mesquite area for their iconic concha’s and baguettes. You can heat up the concha’s in the microwave for a couple of seconds and have the same exact taste coming out of the oven. I’ve been to multiple panaderias and none can compare to Panaderia Abuelitos. They don’t burn their sweet bread nor are they tough like some establishments. They take pride in their product.
