Only giving 3 stars because while I love this place, the service was absolutely terrible tonight. Normally I don’t complain and hate to be the bad guy but I’ve been coming here with my family for years just sadly not as often because me and my husband live all the way in Tyler so we where excited to eat here after not eating here for a year or so and we where left disappointed. I always order the chicken tenders and get 2 sides, i ordered a salad then went to add on a 2nd side, our waiter straight up said she didn’t know if we got two sides and I told her well I want the Mac and cheese if yall do even though I know they do two sides and it was written on the board, which when I got my food, there of course was no Mac and cheese so I paid full price only to get 1 side And when asking for ketchup she hands me a basically empty bottle. We also asked her for Soft tortillas twice, we constantly Had Empty cups because the waitress was on her phone instead of remembering what we ordered or even to check on us especially when she brought sweet tea out to refill 4 water cups and couldn’t remember anything we ordered. She even only filled my cup up half way at one point as well. She didn’t even serve us until we watched the owner tell her to come serve us. As someone who has worked in the food business I’m usually on the waitress’s/waiters side when it comes to complainers but I couldn’t even excuse the bad service we received. very disappointed and hope this gets fixed for next time.
On a POSITIVE note the food...
Read moreWant to give a 3.5 but not possible so...3 it is.. We were driving through Terrell to look at some real estate and decided to stop here and get some grub. We ordered two 12oz ribeyes with broccoli, sliced tomatoes, comes with side salad and last but not least a plain hamburger patty for my pup all for$36 and some change. Didn't have a lot of expectations given the price, location and appearance of the place but it wasn't half bad all things considered. The ribeye was very fatty but cooked at a pretty decent med/rare, broccoli was boiled (man, stop boiling the veggies, throw them on the grill with a bit of water and salt and put a lid on it for a few! Waaaaay better taste and ya don't kill all the nutrients, just saying.) Hamburger could have been better if seasoned a bit but pup doesn't care and none of it was seasoned so not surprising, also pup couldn't eat it because there were onions in it and those are TOXIC TO DOGS. Stop putting ONIONS in the burgers or tell people they are there so they don't kill their furbabies or human babies if someone is allergic! Overall, I would try it again maybe not for the ribeye, but that again was better than expected. Seems popular for locals and staff was friendly. Wouldn't mind trying some mexican food here...maybe next time! Did I mention salt and pepper are good things and should always be used when...
Read moreWe visited based on recommendations that this was a great local venue. Let me stop you there- great isn't a word I'd use to describe a single thing about this restaurant. The food(Terrell Special) and a tamale is what I ordered. Imagine opening can of store chili, microwaving it, then microwaving the most generic, tasteless frozen tamale and drowned said tamale in said chilli; throw a pinch of cheddar cheese on top....unsat. The main meal in their 'special sauce' was closer to a wet dog food recipe than anything you'd expect to see at a restaurant. Things I didn't have as much of a problem with were the small amount of rice and my sweet tea. The staff, outside of the hostess, children...who don't know the menu, don't know what they have, are not professional on the slightest and basically should be limited in capacity to cleaning tables. Example: Us: We'd like your home made Flan(on printed menus and also on the board directly behind). Server: confused look* Flan???? Us: yes, flan.
Highly recommend you steer as far away from this establishment unless you prefer paying for what you could probably microwave yourself if you decided to get food at the local...
