Let me start by saying we LOVE Donna's Donuts. We order from here frequently, and this is the first time we've had an issue.
We were only getting (2) bagels & (3) donuts, so we went through the drive thru last Sunday late morning. It's usually busy and we expected a bit of a wait, but this time ended up being way longer than usual.
The vehicle ahead of us must have placed a large order, because 8 or 9 white donut bags and several minutes later they were finally pulling away. As we were moving forward, however, the vehicle slams on its brakes and throws it in reverse. Thankfully they realized we had moved up and decided to park and go inside instead.
We sat at the window for 2 or 3 minutes without being acknowledged. Once the people from the vehicle in front of us went inside we realized we weren't being acknowledged because the staff were waiting on them.
It seemed like they'd received something incorrectly, and caused all (3) staff members behind the counter (that we could see) to stop serving other customers all together. After waiting about 5 minutes one of the staff finally turned around to us, but unfortunately it was only to motion to ask whether the bag in their hand was ours? We shook our heads "no", and then the staff member simply turned back around to the commotion.
We waited another couple of minutes and finally decided to leave and get breakfast elsewhere. While this certainly won't prevent us from getting breakfast here in the future, this one time in particular was unfortunately disappointing, to say the least.
Highly recommend, but go inside to order. People inconsiderately place too large orders in the drive thru making the wait...
Read moreA bit disappointed, probably because of high expectations. Saw some stellar reviews and someone said it's the best donut they ever had.
We saw the donut hamburger and was intrigued... And hungry! We asked the gentleman behind the counter if it was savory. He wasn't sure so he asked the girl next to him yes. Ok, cool, this is something different. Also got a Boston creme. So when we asked if we can get the donut hamburger heat up, the older woman looked at us funny and said it's not meant to be eaten hot. I thought it was strange and asked if it's a hamburger with donut as buns. She said yes, the buns are donuts. I'm like, ok, so it's savory right? She then tells me there's Bavarian cream inside. Man, this is bizarre. So it's not savory? She repeats again there's cream in the middle. I gave up and took it anyway.
Once in my hand, I can now see that it's donut buns, Bavarian cream that looks like melted cheese, and the hamburger patty is a chocolate donut sliced thin in half to look like meat. So no, it's not savory, that's all I wanted to hear. And if I had known, I would have gotten a different donut than a Boston creme.
Anyway, the donut hamburger was ok but it's a lot of damn donut. It wasn't super sweet which is good. The "bun" was likely a donut with no hole and no glaze. The chocolate donut in the middle looks slightly glazed. The cream is thicker than a typical Boston creme and that was probably the best part.
Overall it was just alright. Would have given this 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up in case my experience was clouding my food judgement. Wouldn't go out of my way...
Read moreThis place is unfortunately now being run by a pack of unruly, ignorant and uneducated teenagers. I never thought a simple run for coffee and donuts would turn into the most unpleasant interaction I’ve ever had to have at a donut shop! I get to the drive through window this morning to place my order, and was greeted by the nastiest, world hating teenager I’ve ever seen named Krysta. I ended up paying for 2 donuts I never received and had to call this place at least twice to ask them to come outside and refund my money. The manager Ashley is as useless as her staff is, and I can’t believe I had to waste over half an hour of my time this morning with this bunch of incompetents. They had run out of donuts at 11 am on a Saturday morning and even thought it’s understandable that a busy place runs out of items, the nasty attitude is not. Finally the owner Bill came outside and was apologetic and explained he is now retired and working today for his son and had to yell at his employees who were out of control and not doing their jobs!!!! I felt really bad for him, and seems like he needs to fire his current staff and replace them with customer service oriented, knowledgeable people. I’m sure I wasn’t the first or last complaint about the service of this place and I hope if they are planning on staying open, that they replace the...
