I have edited my review. Oscars went from 5 stars to two stars. I used to love Oscar’s but since the pandemic the food and service are terrible. I visited twice since pandemic. The first time I ordered tacos no lettuce and stuffed potato skins with beef. The kitchen put lettuce on the tacos and they burnt the stuffed potato skins. The first visit the server was outstanding. She apologized, had kitchen fix tacos remake potato skins. I almost didn’t get skins because they had run out of potatoes. The second visit: The waitress was horrible. Unbelievably slow. She sat us and brought chips and salsa then she returned about 15 minutes later asking if we wanted to order drinks. Placed the order and another 15 minutes later she returns but instead of bringing our drinks she asks if we would like to order drinks. She takes drink orders and food order this time. We ordered tacos and one side of rice and beans. Another 15 minutes she returns with tacos and two sides of rice / beans. I figured I wouldn’t complain since it is taco Tuesday so I didn’t mind paying for second order of rice/beans. The tacos were good on this visit and made as ordered. She never asked if she could refill the sodas. She never came to check on us u til returning with the check. Then she brings the check. We are charged full menu price for the tacos. It is taco Tuesday. They should have been $1.00each. They were $2.50 each. I asked why we were charged full price. She said that taco Tuesday doesn’t start until 4pm. There are no signs saying taco Tuesday after 4pm. The sign says taco Tuesday back not taco Tuesday specials after 4pm. There are no signs inside the restaurant saying that taco Tuesday specials do not start until 4pm so I paid extra $12.00 for tacos plus a couple dollars for a second order of rice and beans that I didn’t order. Paid extra $14.00. I gave them two chances since pandemic and they failed. I will not waste my time and money going to eat at Oscar...
Read moreOscar's pinatas is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. The owner, Oscar, is from Mexico and brought the authentic recipes they serve with him. The quality has always been great, and as for authenticity, my father spent solve time in New Mexico on business and said this is the closest he's been able to find to what he had when he traveled south of the border. The dining room isn't frilly or anything but it's clean and comfortable. The menu is quite extensive ranging from tacos and burritos to things like flautas, enchiladas and many specialty dishes. If you're party has someone who 'doesn't like' Mexican food, they also have some "American" dishes like burgers, chicken sandwich, and steak, and some interesting fusion items like the Mexican chicken Parm and Mexican pizza. Our last trip was during covid so we ordered take out, but they do offer dining in and they have a bar as well. The takeout was good though. My wife had a taco salad which was still crisp and fresh, not all wilty and warm like you sometimes get by the time you get a carryout salad home, and I had a chimichanga that was still hot and crispy. My daughter had a kids ground beef soft taco (they have a lot of kids options too, well over ten) and it served to disappear without a trace. We shared a Mexican pizza as an appetizer and it was delicious as well. The portions are very generous, and the prices are very reasonable. You'll either be stuffed to the brim or you'll have lunch leftover for tomorrow, and either way, your taste buds and stomach...
Read moreNew to the area and Oscar's was recommended to me as a great place to eat. The seating was a bit to tight for my medium sized party but they accommodated as best as they could. The server was actually amazing until she was occupied toward the end of our experience. The mariachi was also fun, one song was enough but the family enjoyed it nonetheless. The experience here that left me to jaw dropped was the food. The chips and salsa weren't great. The rice was so dry and flavorless, as if it was a day old. The meat was also flavorless, and wouldve been almost inedible without the sauce beneath it that did improve the flavor but still, not what I would expect. We left easy enough and paid our bill and tipped of course. What we didn't expect was the tip we got back, when all of my family had to spend the most of the next day in the bathroom. Needless to say, never going back. My bathroom wouldn't forgive me. Found out later the recommendation was meant to be down the road from this...
