Wow update to my previous 5 star review given to this location by me over 5 years ago to this 1 star... nice job over something so small.
I am a Life long IHOP customer. I have been to Ihop hundreds of times at multiple locations over the 20+ years that I have frequent this restaurant. Call me old fashioned but I order the same thing every single time I go to Ihop. I have never once had an issue in the 20 years of service this chain has given me. Breakfast sampler, no eggs, extra hash browns. How hard is that? For some reason the waitress was grouchy right off the bat. Told me that they can not substitute hash browns for eggs because there is a $3 price difference. So charge me an extra $3 then? "No because they don't have a button for that"? ... waitress explained to me that hash browns are "like $5 and eggs are like $2 so they can't do that. You can get a 40 pound bag of potatoes for $5....I asked why they do it every other time, and she explained that those "employees should be fired for not following the rules". So I scratched the order and paid $4 for a couple sips of coffee and left. Waitress addressed the manager and he did not even bother to come talk to me or even look at me for that matter. Just another corporate chain that could care less about an individual customer because they have an abundant customer base so screw me. What does one customer matter. Let's see: over 20 years at least 200 visits at minimum $50 per visit equals $10,000. I have spent over $10,000 at Ihop in the past and could have been thousands more over future visits. Not one mention of the price of hashbrowns until today. I guess it is a tight economy when you chase customers away over a $3 charge on a $60 order and the manager not even care. I mean I even told her to charge me the $3.... she was against making customers feel happy and welcome today... Well Thanks for ruing my Ihop experience. Lifelong customers mean nothing to corporations like this and will be my last time ever going to IHop again. At the end of the day you are charging incredible prices for sub-par food. I only enjoyed the consistency but not any more.... Thanks IHOP Waitress for saving me $60 and reminding me how...
Read moreIt wouldn't have been such a bad place if their staff actually remembered anything or treated us like customers. There was a table of eight behind me that I heard complaining about their order nonstop which got me worried but I chalked it up to maybe they were just difficult customers.
But then the woman and her child beside me start complaining about the same things... The couple across from me sat there for twenty minutes after getting their coffee before finally saying forget the food bring them the check.
Our waitress came over and seemed flustered, fine no problem. She explained to us it's crazy in there, again no problem. She takes our drink order and brings it to us only to say, darn I forgot the straws I'll be right back. We don't see her for ten minutes now and when she does come back she takes our food order but I had to remind her of the straws. Again, fine no big deal.
She now however starts complaining about the table behind us, the party of eight. I'm an easy person to please... But it took twenty or so minutes to even get our food from the time we got there and I must have heard the manager and the waitress make every upset and aggravated comment possible about the table behind us. Yes they seemed difficult, not my problem. Treat us like we matter.
We are spending money after all. When the food got there the girl I was out with and myself began to eat and engage in conversation. Not ten or fifteen minutes go by before we have a box and the check... Followed by the manager almost glaring at us and finally she walks over and just starts picking plates off the table that still have things on them. So this location was in NO rush to take our order or to get our order right but they were in a rush to get us out?
I'll never go back here. You're just a dollar sign and there's nothing worth spending your dollars here on. The bacon with thin and flavorless, the French toast was missing the sugar that was described and looked like it had been on the skillet too long and nothing says award winning customer service like badmouthing another customer to your customer you're giving...
Read moreI would remember this particular visit, even if it came to be discussed years from now. It's been awhile since this event occurred, but my wife and I have not be visited this location, or any IHOP location since. This is particularly sad for us because this is a place we used to visit when we first started dating, almost a decade ago. Since then it's falling Under New Management, and I use the word "falling" purposely.
We both even remember what we had to eat, my wife had one of their giant waffles, and I had an omelet. Starting with my omelet the grated cheese was uncooked, and the omelet itself was cold on the outside and unbelievably roasting on the inside. The fact that the cheese wasn't even melted, and this meal made it to my table, just doesn't even make sense to me.
My wife's giantwaffle was completely overcooked, and difficult to chew.
We would have complained, but our waitress was nowhere to be found. After literally almost 15 minutes we took a few bites, and left.
I still tipped the waitress, just because it's par for the course no matter what, unless it's specifically the waitress's fault that something's wrong, but even that felt incorrect. Months later, I still remember that feeling.
It may seem sort of ridiculous after reading this review, but I think the reason that it was so important to us, was because of the past we had there, and that we've had a few meals there, over the past year, that haven't met the quality that this restaurant once used to produce.
Unfortunately, I don't believe IHOP will be getting a second chance from us, at any of...
